Its body has a light yellow gold color with great clarity. On top of the body is a small white creamy head. The head fades fast and makes only a very little slick lacing. The aroma has nice sweet bready notes with delicate fruity esters. I get notes of peach, banana and white grape. I get all the same delicate fruitiness and mellow bready sweetness in the flavor as I did in the aroma. This light bodied beer has mild carbonation and a smooth light texture which is quite quaffable.

A nice light summer beer. Hop/floral nose and a tad bit of hop bite at the end. Not a bad summer offering from GI. beerguy101 (5360) - Newark, California, USA - SEP 21, 2002
Light gold color, medium head. A medium bodied Kolsch. Malty and lightly hopped. Some citrus flavor, smooth taste. Lots of flavor. Mouthfeel is full and round. Finish is clean and smooth. Aftertaste is slightly sweet. Very nice beer. Light and refreshing, yet lots of flavor. humulus (339) - Salem, Missouri, USA - JUN 5, 2003
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2003 Summertime never tasted so good as this smooth Kolsch by a burgeoning micro/macro. Slightly cloudy, light hops and citrus undertones. A fine, golden hue of a beverage. True to the style, this baby is like Goose Pilsner (which I thuroughly enjoy) only lighter. I cannot but rave over this brew. One of the better Kolsch I have tried (not that I have tried many). Notice it rates number 1 in is it's style (yet only 59th percentile). Give me a hot summer day, but give me a Goose Island Kolsch.

In bottle at Jerry’s. Straw-gold with big, foamy, white head / Light lemon and wheat nose / Light bodied, crisp, with fine carbonation and tart, dry finish / Flavors of lemon and wheat / A textbook example of the style? Rastacouere (6177) - Montreal, Quebec, CANADA - OCT 8, 2008
Fresh on tap at Clybroun, this was an absolutely superb Kölsch, better than most I’ve had in Cologne.

Absolutely spot on. This is one pint I downed in less than 10 minutes and could have done it again until I fell as natural as it felt. Precisely what I’m looking for in the style. Hugely refreshing, focused, crisp soft cerealic taste, based on doughy freshness. Lasting lacy white head. Gentle creamy, minimal acidity acts as a bonus. Not bubbly, but enthusiast, rather big-bubbled, coating carbonation. Soft noble hop kiss in the finish leaves lots of room for the breadiness and graininess. Fresh! Fresh! Fresh!
I can’t believe how low this is scored. The bottles must not translate the exuberant freshness all that well.

A: Pours a very light yellow-grain color with about two fingers worth of head and plenty of carbonation. The bubbles are nice to watch through the transparent beer--wish I’d poured this one into my Sam Adams perfect pint. Excellent lacing.
S: Sweet grains. Some hints of hoppy citrus.
T: Much like the smell, the initial taste is sweet grains, with some light fruits in there as well. Ever-so-slightly bitter.
M: Very light and crisp. Good amount of carbonation. No alcohol presence.
D: Exceedingly drinkable--this will indeed be a great summertime brew. drostj (113) - Huntsville, Alabama, USA - JUL 30, 2013
Bottle pour at Rocket City Brewfest. Pale clear straw-colored with a light lacy head. Fresh, grassy aroma with some spice. Lightly sweet but dry at the same time, light with a crisp taste. Some hops, some grass and a slight spiciness. Crisp, slightly bitter finish. Very nice light, refreshing beer. gschrade (1084) - Collinsville, Illinois, USA - NOV 1, 2013
I had this at Global Brew. Pours gold with a white head. Taste citrusy, crisp. I thought this was pretty good. I would definitely drink this again.
