COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wright’s grandiose vision for a mile-high skyscraper dubbed "The Illinois," we set out to brew an imperial IPA that would be similar in name and ambition. "The Illinois" Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with three of our favorite hops: Cascade, Meridian, and Citra. the result is a harmoniously hoppy ale with a flavor and aroma that is uniquely Goose Island.

SamP01 (668) - New Jersey, USA - MAY 23, 2015
A cloudy amber with a medium off white head on the pour. Aroma and taste of fruity citrus notes, caramel malt, yeast and herbal hops. A medium to full body with good carbonation. Finish is sweet fruity, yeast, caramel malt ending with a dry citrus herbal hops bitterness for balance, has some alcohol boozy on the end as well. Overall a good solid drinking brew.

(bottle) The second in Mark’s session lineup for our the 25th anniversary dinner. A nice surprise in flavor and hidden ABV.

kathouse (1877) - LAS VEGAS, Nevada, USA - APR 25, 2015
At the Goose Island Brewing in ORD. This was an excellent DIPA. 9% was hidden well. Hop bitterness was significant but didn’t linger after the finish. Plenty of citrus and tropical fruit flavors and aroma. Overall, could be my nightcap on a regular basis.

Lubiere (13796) - Ottawa, Ontario, CANADA - APR 24, 2015
A golden amber DIPA with a thin lacing off white head. In aroma, nice biscuit malt with loads of floral piney hops, light grapefruit notes, light catty notes, very nice. In mouth, a nice biscuit malt with nice piney and citrusy floral hops, grapefruit pulp, nice and smooth. On tap at Clybourn location.

coachd (803) - Missouri, USA - APR 19, 2015
Honey like sweetness in the aroma with only a hint of hops and some wheat. Great looking dark orange color with a permanent white ring of foam. Taste is sweet up front, followed by big grapefruit rind flavored hops. Aftertaste is just the right amount of bitter. Palate is slick with subdued carbonation. I really enjoyed this one. Will definitely buy again.

fraternie (1011) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 10, 2015
Big citrus flavors of grapefruit dominate and grassy hops lingers. Dry and a bit thin, but the alcohol is covered well and it’s refreshing enough. Pretty straightforward overall.

hfmejias (1282) - Marshall, Minnesota, USA - APR 10, 2015
12 Fl. Oz. Bottle. Poured hazy, orange in color, with about a finger of off-white foamy head that left spotty lacing all over the glass. Aroma of citrus fruit (lots of it), caramel and grain. Taste is sweet and malty but balanced with citrus notes; quite dry. Very enjoyable; not bad at all.

IndianaRed (4546) - Boise, Idaho, USA - APR 3, 2015
On Tap at Boise PreFunk Murky deep orange Thin quickly receding off white head. Middle of the road bitterness and flavor for a double. Rather heavy palate and a lite papery at the end. The hop flavors are tropicla and fruity, if muted a bit. A good DIPA

3.6
BuckeyeBoy (7535) - Boise, Idaho, USA - MAR 31, 2015
On tap at prefunk Boise. Pours out a copper topped with a sand head. Nose is heavy malts caramel malts and dank hops. Taste is more of the heavy malts sweet caramel and a nice hop mix.
