COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Inspired by Frank Lloyd Wrights grandiose vision for a mile-high skyscraper dubbed "The Illinois," we set out to brew an imperial IPA that would be similar in name and ambition. "The Illinois" Imperial IPA is dry-hopped with three of our favorite hops: Cascade, Meridian, and Citra. the result is a harmoniously hoppy ale with a flavor and aroma that is uniquely Goose Island.

On tap at Madisons pre-GTMW event - Pours clear amber with a thin off-white head. Nose is dank hops, real citrusy with a clean malt base. Taste has a little more sweetness and booze, with lots of dank mango and citrus hops. Medium-bodied and well-carbonated. Real nice--not sweet or hot.

Pours out a nice darker amber color with a small white head. Aroma is of lots of evergreen hops, pine, sweet citrus, and some lingering boozy notes. Taste is a punch of citrus, some evergreen/piney hops, mildly acidic bitterness, some odd fruity/floral notes and lingering boozy sweetness.

It's a dipa for the serious beer drinker, it focus more on the deep malt while having a hops wallop. Enjoy this beer, don't waste ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle: Almost fully opaque, dense burnt-orange body with a creamy eggshell head that foams up nicely & lasts substantially long; nice lacing. First whiff is quite sweet, more sweet than I typically like my DIPAs. Florals, mild dankness, sticky caramel, toffee, pineapple, tangerine, honey sweetness... Lots of notable residual sweetness. Flavor has an added, leafy & mildly floral bitterness, a touch of hop leaf & hop oil, but sadly still has a malt backbone thats too dark & large for its own good. Sweet, sweet caramel, toffee, & toasted malts just evade the palate & steal the show. Faint tropical fruitiness with a tingle of leaves in the finish, but your palate is left coated with sticky malt sugars. Not necessarily a bad beer, but definitely not my style of DIPA, thats for sure.

On tap at MacGregors, very enjoyable. Tiny bubbles, dark clear amber, clean thick head. Citrus and mango along with malty notes waft out. Some of the same in the palate, very subtle and delicate. No alcohol detected. Really good.

Pours a deep golden almost copper color with a finger of sticky eggshell foam. The nose is interesting, bready malts, citrus, pine, musky melon. The palate follows with nice layers of dank earthy fruit, pine, citrus and a round clean malt backbone. Pretty nice drinker for 9% !

Lots of hops in the aroma. Citrus and pine. The flavor has a malty sweet start with a nice amount of hops in the back end. Well carbonated, crisp for the style.

On tap at Fraser's. The pour is a light copper, crystal clear works thin white head and some awesome lacing going on. The aroma is heavy citrus and pine with a strong malt undertone. The flavor is a bit lore malt oriented. There is a strong malt and piney resin presence. Very good and dry for a strong IPA. The mouth feel is a touch thin with a perfect amount of carbonation and a delightfully citrusy dominated aftertaste. Just a great IPA. This is an incredibly delicious beer! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
