Lots of great smells in this one. Fresh grass and slight hits of pine. Appearance of Amber. Would drink this again and again. Livendadream (230) - New Mexico, USA - APR 19, 2014
Btl pours hazy orange-gold color with a thick creamy off white head that lingers for a while leaving strips of lace on glass. Smells of citrus fruits, pine, dank cellar, tropical fruits, sweet bread, grass and a whiff of alcohol. Tastes of sweet caramel malts, grapefruit, orange and bread. Medium body, smooth creamy texture, silky mouthfeel, perfect carbonation and a dry bitter finish. Well balanced iipa that has very clean flavors. Its an imperial that doesn’t seem like one until you have had a couple. The 9% abv is hidden very well. Great beer Goose Island! 78samh (287) - Olympia, Washington, USA - JUN 19, 2014
12 oz bottle, clear orange, good head that fades leaving lots of lacing. Aroma of pineapple and peaches, a little floral. Great malt background and loads of hop flavor make this a very balanced and dangerous beer. No way this is %9. Its well hidden. Great IIPA! skmikeg (1826) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 7, 2014
Pours a bright orange with a one finger off white head with nice lacing. Aroma is of citrus, pine, sweet malts, light tropical fruits, and some caramel malts. Taste is prett similar to the aroma with a lot of nice citrus, tropical fruits, and a nice sweet malt backbone. Has a medium body with a semi creamy mouthfeel and a semi dry, moderately bitter, medium-long finish. Overall, a tasty, suprisingly drinkable DIPA. Dark gold/orange with a thick white head. Huge pine aroma and resiny flavor. Remarkable, primarily for its balance and finesse. DrnkMcDermott (3097) - Downers Grove, Illinois, USA - JUL 19, 2013
Sampled while I’m pouring GI at Blarney Stone’s Brew Fest. This assaults my nose right away with the big piney catbox smell of big American hops. Then a big malty smack in the face that stands up to the extreme bitter these hops put down. Thick malty mouthfeel, and you can sense the alcohol doing its dirty work. Alternating between sipping this and BCS. Life is good. kaser (6221) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 2, 2013
Poured from draft at sheffields. Darker orange. Tons of foamy white head. Sweet and hoppy fruit aroma. The citra hops give an amazing smell and taste. Smooth. Delicious IPA. Great beer BeerKurve (520) - - NOV 30, 2013
Growler from Keyport. Clear orange with a filmy head, mild carbonation and decent lacing. Nose and flavor consist of citrus hops, apricots, caramel malts and a bitter piney resin aftertaste. Body is heavy and moderately carbonated. Pretty good! nuplastikk (6225) - Madison, Wisconsin, USA - FEB 8, 2014
Snifter at Eddies. Filtered copper-orange color, nice amber hues. Big, steady off-white head. Nice, cool, crisp hop tones. Really solid IIPA. Rindy, grapefruit, very resinous yet cool and crisp too. Toasty malt background, some caramel, richer malt tones than, say, FFF. Resinous finish, dry, sweet, nice balance.
