Really excited about this one, being from Chicago. Beautiful color, moderate lacing. Aroma is fantastic. Fruity and resiny. Taste is a balanced, hop powered yet fruity wave of deliciousness. Four pack for $9.99. Great value for a great beer. Try if you can.

Bottle pour. Pours a light copper with a lot of hops in the nose. Sweeter floral taste to start with a more complex, hoppy, bitter finish. Well hidden alcohol. Very drinkable. Very good. Terminus (3740) - St. Louis, Missouri, USA - MAR 15, 2014
Bottle-pours bright orange with a small soapy white head with sparse lacing. nose is massive-lots of tropical notes along with grapefruit, pineapple, lite resin, very sweet smelling (flowers). flavors of grapefruit (pink), pine, lite cleaner, cheese, speramint, and lots of tropical notes. flavors are pretty complex. reminds me alot of their old IIPA they used to make back before the AB buyout. long sweet citric finish with lingering grapefruit, pineapple, and fresh hops. a very solid IIPA! Bottle from Wine & Cheese in Clayton, MO. Pours copper with a slight white head. Aroma is citrus over a warmish light treacle. Med body or better. Flavor is very citrus with suggestions of pine. And odd fruits. Not like Mosaic, but makes me think of that. Heck, I’m even imagining a little anise. This is very different and unusual. Finishing hoppy and bitter and pretty dry. Quite nice.

Poured from a 12oz bottle. Aroma is citrus and tropical fruit. Flavors are citrus, tropical fruit, pineapple, and a tiny bit of pine. Nice solid double Ipa, love that it’s not overly bitter or piney. For a big beer it’s actually kind of balanced. rlgk (18843) - Göteborg, SWEDEN - APR 11, 2014
Bottle at Goose Island Clybourne, Chicago. Clear golden/orange beer with a nice lasting offwhite head. Hoppy pine apple aroma, grassy, mango, oranges, peach, passion fruit, citrus, caramel notes, biscuits, lemongrass, some hay. Hoppy floral flavor, grassy, biscuits, pine apples, raisins, peach, passion fruit, some lemongrass. Very nice beer. 17thfloor (2444) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 13, 2014
I’m already partial to this one because I REALLY want the Imperial IPA they used to make to come back... this isn’t it but has some similar characteristics. Flavor and aroma both dominated by green pine... would never have guessed Citra without being told... but I can get a bit of the onion/citrus fruit on the flavor now knowing. Very well done.... not my particular tastes, but well done GI. fcjack1 (283) - Washington, USA - APR 14, 2014
12 oz. bottle. Pours a golden amber color. Thin white head. Scent of floral hops. Taste is hoppy and crisp. Citrus and hops linger for a bit. I like it! chicagobears (482) - Elk Grove Village, Illinois, USA - APR 18, 2014
Goose Island always recommends a serving glass on the label. I went with a snifter instead of the recommended pint glass! Pretty standard on the nose as fas IIPAs go. Flavor is fresh full of hops. Really chewy and sticky on the palate. The resiny bitterness is counter by a malty sticky sweetness. I wouldn’t call this ’balnaced’, as the sweetness and bitterness are both on the extreme side. But that is what I expect from a Imperial beer like this and I’m glad that Goose Island stepped up for this one.
