Draft at Belgian Fest. A late entry to replace the Sofie, I think. Pours a deep gold with a firm white head. The nose is nice. Clean malt profile, light and soft yeast aromatics of white pepper and fruit. Floral overall with some rosewater noted. On tasting, it is subtle. Soft pils malt, light bitterness and yeast. Roses come through again. I like the subtlety of the yeast overall here. Nice beer. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - SEP 20, 2012
Draft on tap at Belgian Fest (Chicago, IL). Pours a richer hazed golden hue, a touch of darkness, frothy offwhite head dies to a film, laces ok. Aromas are gentle sweetness, bread, and some roses. Florals, oranges, gentle honey. Initial is medium bodied, a touch of sweetness. Honey, bread, dough. Some sweet richness, orange. Gentle grass, touch of yeast. Bit of heat as we move back into the middle and backend. Some sweetness, apple orchard, pear. A bit sweet. Spicy and yeasty into the finish. I don’t like this style from American brewers. But, the roses give this a nice element to play with.
