draft. pours clear golden white head, aroma has corn sugar, honey and spice. flavors has honey spicy, candy sugar, and odd dirty and moldy finish. TheAlum (7164) - Aurora, Illinois, USA - APR 28, 2011
Sampled on tap at the GI Invasion Event at SmallBar Fullerton (Chicago, IL). Pours a near transparent golden pour, a light haze, decent frothy white head, with good lacing. Aromas are a touch of urine, honey, and crisp bready malts. Faint yeast, honey, and sweet malts, faint yeasty spice. Initial is medium bodied, honey malts, apple, bread dough, and slight yeasty spice. Some vanilla, honeycomb, and bread dough, some apple, pear, faint citrus. Finish is fairly clean, a little sweet and a little hot. Not bad, but not complex. A little overwhelming. tmoreau (4295) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - MAY 29, 2010
On tap at the Goose Island Invasion of the Hop Leaf. Dispensed to a chalice, a fairly clear, orangy gold, with a modest, bubbly, off white head, and web-like lacing. The nose was a bit of yeast, spice, soft malt, floral hints, citrus, and some light fruit sweetness. Alcohol was noticed in the flavor, along with moderate hop bitterness and good, spritzy carbonation. A nice, standard example of the style. kieleszd (83) - Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA - MAY 16, 2008
I had this on their 20th anniversary. It was golden orange in color, smelled of bitter fruit. Taste of malt, honey and grapefruit zest. This warms you as you drink it. This is an excellent choice anytime of the year and is matched welll with spicy foods.

Draft @ GTMW. Pours an orangish/red with a medium sized off-white head, with tons of lacing. A very fruity aroma with citrus, pear, some spicy cloves. The flavor is initially fruity with a decent malt backbone, then the spices come through. Very good version of a Tripel. troyc (2869) - Illinois, USA - MAY 27, 2007
(Tap) Pours a light amber color with a foamy white head. Aroma of Belgian yeast, including some hints of banana and pear. Fruity and spicy notes are big in this beer. Just a touch of malt flavoring, with an amount of alcoholic warming. Full palate. A little funky towards the end. Very interesting. ElGaucho (2401) - Minnetonka, Minnesota, USA - OCT 17, 2006
GTM ’06. Off white head, creamy, cask-like head. Hazy orange. Beautiful. Tastes like a cask. Subtle flavors. Very nice beer. ElBorracho (472) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - APR 30, 2006
On tap at Clybourn. Pours a golden orange with a bubbly white head. Plenty of estery fruit coming off this one along with yeast, pears, and apples. Finishes nicely. Ughsmash (7508) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 18, 2006
On tap at GI Clybourn. Poured a bronzed amber with a short layer of off-white head... almost clear. Aroma was quite vibrant, with lots of sharp, sliced, fresh fruit (apples and pears primarily).. as well as caramel... very fresh, soft, and smooth. Flavor was strong, with fresh lighter fruits and Belgian-style yeast.. felt similar to the Belgian reserves.. strong. Carbonation was high.. mouthfeel smooth, with floral and alcohol hits at the edges... alcohol became a bit too sharp as this warmed. Solid overall.
