(Draught) Pours a reddish brown body with medium cream head. Aroma of roasted malt, nuts, caramel, and earth. Flavor of caramel, toasted grain, and nuts with a somewhat dry, bitter finish. NobleSquirrel (3439) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - SEP 28, 2010
Keg donation at our homebrew club’s Oktoberfest from the Bolingbrook location. Nice. Pours a very attractice copper with an offwhite head. Nose is wet bread, crisp continental hops. A touch of grass. On taste, nice level of bitterness. Clean toasty character of the malt. Good body. Nicely balanced and a winner. kseecs16 (1216) - Naperville, Illinois, USA - JUN 14, 2010
On tap at the Bolingrook, IL location. Pours a very dark brown with a creamy light tan head that leaves a sheath of lacing down the glass. Flavor is nutty with some light floral hops in the finish. Highly carbonated. Not bad.

(Old BA rate - tap at Atlanta location)
Thinnish slightly off-white head, light brown color that was pretty clear and noticeable rising carbonation. Malty, earthy, and nearing on dark bread. Mint-like hoppiness toward the end. Malt shows up first and is a touch sweet, but the hops are pretty spicy which is really interesting and enjoyable. Bit of the earthiness comes in again as well. Thin MF, with tight carbonation, perhaps could have used a bit more body to carry the flavors (even though the style calls for a thinner MF)Decent drinkability, and held some interesting flavors. Decent abv weight keeps this from being as drinkable, and the really light body just didn’t turn me on.

On tap. Pours with a dark hazy brown body and a tan head. Aroma of caramel, dark fruit, estery, tobacco. Taste is caramel, grain, husky, dark fruit. Light bubbles, crisp finish. tmoreau (4637) - Lombard, Illinois, USA - NOV 2, 2009
On tap at the Bolingbrook, IL. location. Poured a clear, brownish copper with amber tones showing through into a GB Willy Becker/Imp. pint glass. The head was frothy, off white foam, almost light tan, following with wavy sheets of very clingy lacing. The aroma was smooth malt with a touch of roastiness, a bit of grain, and some light caramel and malty sweetness. The flavor was very similar, and added a firm hop bitterness and a smooth and clean drinkability. The assertive bitterness along with some pleasant dryness followed through into the finish. A very nice Altbier in the Northern German style. Good job, Kevin. GriffinAvenue (396) - Winchester, Massachusetts, USA - JUN 3, 2009
Draft. Brown, root beer bottle coloring. Flat, no body and the last in my flight. Earns my scorn. ben4321 (6739) - Hoboken, New Jersey, USA - MAY 14, 2009
Location: We have a bunch of these in the metro DC area, I think I’ve prob been to 3 of them, including the one in "Downtown Rockville" that I visit pretty often, I’ve had this one on tap there

Another decent offering from GB, this is one of their seasonals, and it’s got some hop distinction, but overall its a pretty average brew.
Blah...did not really care for this one. Some malt but definitly seems a bit skunky to me. Bad aftertaste as well.
