On tap at the San Diego location. Poured a really nice dark red, copper color. Definite caramel, toffee aroma. Nice malty flavor, went down nice and smooth. Very enjoyable. microakes (160) - CANADA - NOV 29, 2007
Clear and Dark. Very malty (something I like) with plenty caramel notes. Very Nice. Sombeast (151) - Pewaukee, Wisconsin, USA - APR 18, 2007
2-finegr rapidly disipitating head. Mild aroma. Clear, dark auburn color. Med mouthfeell. Tastes of light toasted malts, balanced light bitterness. Well carbonated. Too tame for my tastes. frankR (149) - Livermore, California, USA - FEB 6, 2005
Dry, pale and rather flavorless at Gordon Biersch San Jose. I think their Marzen is better. TheShat (131) - Lakewood, Ohio, USA - SEP 23, 2007
Nive copper brown color draft, there is a touch of caramel in the arma. The flavor is pretty mellow and malty. Bland mild finish. meh.

Decent enough Dunkel. Brownish/Amber in color. Small Beige head. Sweet caramel aroma with hints of spices. Sweet start. Top was thin. Finish was smooth with little bitterness. chadzter (94) - huntsville, Alabama, USA - JAN 28, 2006
Sampler at Honolulu restaurant. Aroma has a chocolate sweetness. Pour dark with an amber hue. The head is creamy offwhite with the flavor a caramel chocolate with maybe a roasted nut. ucsbdude (68) - Santa Barbara, California, USA - MAY 16, 2002
Rich and dark with notes of carmel and coffee.Very smooth finish. Oristo (67) - Orinda, California, USA - JAN 26, 2003
Still my favorite in the lineup. Love the deep brown color. Wish the nose was bigger. Great German malt flavor that goes into the finish. The hops don't get in the way but there's plenty of bitter. oneeye1399 (28) - Pasadena, California, USA - DEC 17, 2001
Sweet with malt and caramel flavors emphasized. Great mouthfeel.
