Dunkles, or ’dark’ in German, is a favorite of mine, and this beer ranks high on my dunkle master list.
A full-bodied, malty, nice caramel aroma and a nice hop bitterness in the finish. Unfiltered beers, are also a favorite as they retain the yeasty, grainy flavors I find so appealing. Quite drinkable and smooth. DaSilky1 (2606) - San Diego, California, USA - JUL 27, 2002

My favorite beer from Gordon Biersch. Gorgeous hoppy aroma, multitextured body, sinus-filling finish and yet, very drinkable. Perfect beer at PacBell park.

On tap at the Las Vegas location. Very dark amber (almost brown) in colour with medium carbonation. Caramel-toffee sweetness on the nose, with a bit of toasted malt. More toasted malt and toffee in the mouth as well, along with a bit of acidity and roasted nuts. A bit too light bodied, but overal it’s a solid impression of the style. Draft at the brewpub Columbus, Ohio - Pours dark brown with a creamy offwhite head that stays pretty well and laces some,.. Aroma is toffee, chocolate, and a bit of brown sugar. Flavor is a nice blend of toffee, caramel, chocolate, and a touch of roasted malt. Palate is medium bodied smooth without a great deal of carbonation. Nice beer. 750ml bottle with a swingtop. Pours a slightly hazy roan brown color with a bif foamy beige head that has good retention. The aroma is soft with sweetened malts and grains. The taste is more sweetened grains, nuts and some cola notes. The palate is a bit lighter than I prefer and the carbonation is lively. Finished medium in duration and dry. By far the best Gordon Biersch beer I have ever had. (Draught-GBPA) It tastes as good as the photo looks. Moderately malty and lightly hoppy in aroma. Creamy, off-white head that mostly diminishes. on tap @ San Diego. As nice as that head looks on the beer in the picture that wasn’t how mine was served. Mine had almost no head but still looked appetizing. I found it somewhat sweet of chocolate and of malt. Maybe it was just me but i tasted as if some orange and tea was there as well.?.?. The next few days i kept thinking how much i wanted another glass of this but i have’nt gone back yet.
