COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
is a full-bodied, malty beer. It is our only lager beer served unfiltered, the way all beer was traditionally made years ago. Despite its dark color and rich caramel aroma, Dunkles is light in texture and smooth to drink.

This mahogany colored dunkel is small headed and emanates a feint malt aroma. Bland, nondistinct flavoring drags this beer down--too bad as it appears flavorful. Nonetheless, this is a smooth brew, with exceptional refreshment potential--great to drink cold.

Draught. Medium brown. Aroma is moderately malty (toasted light bread, nutty, caramel), lightly hoppy (herbs), with notes of plum and orange. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Light to medium body, watery texture, soft carbonation.

Pours brownish/ purple. Tiny head. No outstanding aroma or flavor going on. Light malt. No harsh flavors. Drinkable, but not overly enjoyable.

Dry, pale and rather flavorless at Gordon Biersch San Jose. I think their Marzen is better.

On tap at the Las Vegas location. Very dark amber (almost brown) in colour with medium carbonation. Caramel-toffee sweetness on the nose, with a bit of toasted malt. More toasted malt and toffee in the mouth as well, along with a bit of acidity and roasted nuts. A bit too light bodied, but overal it’s a solid impression of the style. The best of their beers that I sampled.

dark brown, big tan head, slight floral hop aroma, rich malt flavor, good dose of chocolate malt, touch of bitterness only after it warms, too one dimensional

toasted malt aroma, good rich chocolate flavor with perfect sweetness and the light character of the wheat, a benchmark dunkle as would be expected from the controlled GB brewery

Pours dark amber, almost cola colored. Nose is straw-like, typical lager aroma. Taste is sweet and quite cola-like. Thin bodied. Soft, but lively carbonation. Decent brew. Not remarkable. Not bad at all. Standard dark lager. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone
