The pour of Gordon Biersch Hefeweizen is hazy orange and its head dissipates quickly for a wheat beer. The aroma of ripe bananas greets the nose, while citrus and clove are relatively muted for the style. After the bready, grainy malt attack, the smooth mid-palate unfolds its banana, citrus, and clove notes before the short and crisp finish. Draught at GBs in Xin Yi. Aroma: floral, Parma violets. Appearance: cloudy, rich gold. 2-3 mm. white head. Palate: full-bodied and oily, soft carbonation; long, sweet finish. Sample on tap @ the brew house restaurant in Baltimore, MD. Pours a cloudy straw yellow with a foamy white head. Crisp clean refreshing. Nice banana and clove flavors. Good for the style but not the best. Enjoyable.

Tapped out light amber. 8ºSRM.
Nose has banana and bubble gum aromas. Sweet and ester-like with the aroma of just over-ripe fruit.
Mouthfeel is carbonated. There is some pronounced carbonation which on first impression is soda-like, then opens up to the grain palate which is pale to lightly toasted malt. Full-bodied and reminiscent of a malted milkshake or malted candy. "Horlicks" for those in the know. Also has that formic acid tang that always reminds me of the acrid aroma you get when you crush red ants’ most commonly described as phenolic. You get this in the back of the throat and in the back of the tongue. No hops that you can really taste.
Finish is lager-like and beery and not entire unpleasant, especially if this well-endowed brew is sitting next to a pork knuckle.

6/6 on a flight at the Glendale location. Hazy straw colour, lingering white head. Aromas of orange, unripe banana, and smoked meat. Flavors of oatmeal with banana and nutmeg. Hints of orange, apple, and kandi. Dry finish. Well made, very good hefe.
