On tap at the Kansas City Gordon Biersch. Pours a deep brown color with white head. Coffee, roasty flavors. Light body. Would be a nice schwarzbier, though it is somewhat light. LetsGoState (910) - Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 1, 2012
UPDATED: DEC 10, 2014 Appearance is a dark brown. Aroma is a sweet malt. Taste is a roasted malt, but very light. Overall pretty good. Crispy34 (496) - Texas, USA - OCT 27, 2012
On tap. Aroma is of a light beer. The appearance is dark with a tan head. The taste is of dry, dark malt. Dry through out. This beer is light on the palate, but leaves a lasting taste that is of cheap light beer. Overall, a decent beer.

My first time with the style and I liked this one. Kind of a light porter with roasty chocolate smell and taste. Finishes well. Good beer.

Nice cola black pour leads to a slightly sour roasted malt flavor. The aroma is hard to describe but it kind of smells like garbage? VT (2527) - Quebec City, Quebec, CANADA - JUL 29, 2012
On tap at brewpub. Reddish black with a short-lasting white head. Sweet tasting, milk, chocolat. Roasted finish, with a touch of licorice. Medium-bodied. Strong carbonation. Not so great. saxo (19522) - Højbjerg, Aarhus, DENMARK - JUL 29, 2012

Originally reviewed: 3/12/12. On-tap at the Burbank, CA location.
Came out a deep unassuming black. A small beige sheet of head capped it off. The nose carried notes of coffee, mild cocoa powder and faint aromas of leafy veggies. Moderate carbonation here. Decent feel. Good roasted flavors noted, as well as a bit of a hop smack on the finish. Semi-sweet dark chocolate, mild graininess. This was a good beer, and really hit the spot on this mid-afternoon stop. I’d like to see this one in bottle form. swoopjones (7020) - Buffalo, New York, USA - MAR 28, 2012
Draft, cola colored pour. Decent roasty flavor, lightered bodied, decent schwarzbier
