On tap @ Gordon Biersch Flatirons poured a clear dark brown with a lasting creamy tan head. Aromas of roasted malt, toffee, light smoke, light carmel and a hint of licorice. [2/20/15] Draught at Gordon Biersch Mission Valley in San Diego. Dark brown. Aroma of roast, coffee, caramel and some diacetyl. Sweetish flavor with roast, a faint buttery note, a nutty note and a drier finish with a coffee hint. Light to medium-bodied, kinda over-carbonated. Easy-drinking. A dark clear mahoganny brown bock with a thin off white head. A pleasant smokey malt aroma, quite smooth light chocolate. Sampled on draft at the Virginia Beach location. Pours a clear dark copper/red color with a large head. Good head retention and lacing. Aroma is caramel, light roast and nuts. Draught at Colorado Springs Airport. Pours black with brown highlights and an average, foamy, light brown head, somewhat lasting, spare lacing. Aroma is heavy malt (cookie, chocolate, nutty), light hops (herbs), average yeast (dough) with notes of dust and paper. Medium bodied, sticky texture, average carbonation, and a chalky finish. On tap at Gordon Biersch in Las Vegas. Pours a dark brown to black with a thin tan head. Nice light smoke and caramel, roast. Medium bodied, nice thick malt with a good roast component. Light coffee and roast notes on the finish. Well done.
