Draft to taster at the Atlanta brewpub. Looks solid; a transparent brown with foamy off-white head. Smells malty with notes of dough and lager yeast. Tastes like it smells, only better, with a solid mouthfeel. A decent example of the style.

Had more than a few pints of this at a recent dinner at the DC location. Looks like a stout, opaque black, soft white head. Aroma of toast, nuts, some dark fruits. Flavor was malty, nutty, toast, breads. Crisp, clean finish. Good session beer.

Draft at the San Jose brewery. This one has a little color--medium amber and even a hint of tan in the head. There’s roast/toast in the nose (though not much), and some in the finish, too. Not overly gifted with body or carb, and not super-flavorful, but at least you could tell it from their pilsner in a blind tasting.

Tap at Virginia Beach location. Absolutely my most favorite from my visit. Dark brown color. Aroma is that of caramel, and roasted nuts. Flavor is full of caramel, and has hints of chocolate.

On tap at the Pizza Port Session Ale Fest. Pours with a hazy deep brown body and a generous khaki head. Aroma of leather, cocoa, and coffee. Taste is light coffee, leather, earthy malts, and a bit lactic. Light bubbles, dry mouthfeel.

On tap at the Arena District location. Dark brown in color with a medium tan head. Malty caramel aroma with a touch of hop. Malt flavor up front with a coffee and hop finish. Not bad.

FROTHINGSLOSH (7670) - GREENSBURG, Pennsylvania, USA - NOV 20, 2013
Sampled on draft at the Virginia Beach brewpub this beer poured a very dark brown color with orange highlights and a small tan head that left minimal lacing. The aroma was faint but dryish with a hint of roasty malts. The flavor was dry, malty, roasty and woody. Medium length dry, roasty and woody finish. Medium body. Meh.

Draught. Head is light brown, mostly lasting. Body is dark brown. Aroma is moderately malty (roasted grain, dark chocolate, coffee), with a note of mineral/stone. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly sweet, lightly acidic, moderately bitter. Medium body, velvety texture, lively carbonation. Easily the best Gordon Biersch creation I’ve had.

On Tap in Glendale AZ before the Fiesta Bowl 2007. Pours out a dark brown topped with a tan head. A nice aroma and tast of roast malt. Pretty good.
