My last Gordon Biersch of the day and finally a winner for me. Dark, dark copper appearance, almost black. Light chocolatey aroma, very inviting. Light bodied slightly dry taste of roasted chocolate. Very smooth. Very large lacing from top to bottom of the empty pint. Beautiful brew. heemer77 (5361) - Urbandale, Iowa, USA - MAR 24, 2008
On tap at GB KC. The body was very dark brown. The aroma was roasted coffee with some light caramel. The taste was roasted coffee and caramel. Again, another GB beer with a nice clean finish. Probably the best I had while at GB in KC. dwyerpg (6498) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - AUG 7, 2008
Quite roasty aroma. This definitely is the most complex of the beers I’ve had from these guys. Roasty and a bit heavier; not amazing but good. Still light enough to have a few. j12601 (13304) - Poughkeepsie, New York, USA - AUG 29, 2009
On tap at Gordon Biersch in Las Vegas. Pours a dark brown to black with a thin tan head. Nice light smoke and caramel, roast. Medium bodied, nice thick malt with a good roast component. Light coffee and roast notes on the finish. Well done.

Its dark brown color is definitely more appealing than their other selections. It has a mild coffee taste. Good after taste. Metalchopz (3683) - Cantley, Quebec, CANADA - JUN 26, 2013
Enjoyed at the Syracuse, NY brewpub. Poured a dark brown colour with a beige creamy head and wavy lacing. Aromas of light roasted malts with hints of coffee. Medium-bodied. The taste also has the roasted malts, mild again, with dark fruit notes and molasses. This is an easy drinking dark lager. Bierkrug (2129) - - FEB 13, 2014
On tap at Gordon Biersch McLean, VA. Pours a black dark color with a tan lasting head. Aroma is coffee and some toasted malt. Palate is creamy, medium-full. Taste is similar to aroma. Long coffee finish. On the whole, it is nice Schwarzbier. . decaturstevo (6343) - decatur, Tennessee, USA - OCT 11, 2010
