Draft sample @Syracuse location. Dark brown with thick head even in the sample glass. Nose is roast, hint of coffee and chocolate. Really nice roasted malts with the afore mentioned chocolate and coffee hints, finally a really nice brew at this place. toml219 (285) - California, USA - SEP 26, 2013
Serving type: on-tap
Appearance- Dark Brown with a nice tan head
Aroma- Malt, Chocolate and Coffee
T/P - Very strong coffee flavor almost like drinking an iced cappuccino. Very nice mouths feel no strong after taste.
Overall- Very drinkable, not the best dark beer they have, that would have to go to the winter bock, but defiantly worth a try and would not pass one up if it was offered to me. It is one of the better beers that the brew, just not the best one

On tap. Poured an opaque black with a nice light brown head and great lacing. Aroma was burnt malts. Taste was also burnt malts with a hint of coffee. Very tasty. DocMcGrain (43) - Plymouth Meeting, Pennsylvania, USA - JUL 20, 2014
Smells like coffee, tastes like coffee and caramel. This is a really good porter, though they label it a lager. In any case, it has a nice finish and a full body without the bitterness that often comes with a coffee-style beer. Finish the night with this for sure.

On tap @ Gordon Biersch San Jose. Dark brown color with a khaki head and some reddish highlights. A strong roasted malt note and some cola sweetness. Kind of ashy and a bit of a chocolate note. Maybe some hot cocoa mix. A bit of toasted grain to it, too. The flavor is lightly bitter and roasty. Toasted nuts, some grass, earth, and a bunch of chocolate. Good toffee and toasted bread sweetness. Not bad, I prefer it more roasty though. steview (1037) - Petaluma, California, USA - MAY 9, 2005
