COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Braumeister Selekt. This Gordon Biersch creation applies Eisbock brewing techniques to a bock made primarily from malted wheat. Eisbock was produced using a technique created by a forgetful brewer from the Kulmbach Brewery in Kulmbach, Germany, who accidentally left kegs of bock beer outside during the coldest days of winter. Our modern-day process involves freezing the water molecules out of the brew and removing the frozen portion, thus concentrating the alcohol and flavor of the resulting ale.

On tap at Tap 25. It pours a dark amber color with a khaki head. The aroma is intense with banana, clove, bubble gum. Very sweet on all notes. The flavor is sweet caramel, bread, banana, clove and juicy fruit gum. Super thick body that borders on cloying. Nice spicy yeast character in the finish. I enjoyed this ones intensity of German yeast flavors, but only in small samples.

An amazing beer. Pours a beautiful thick red-black with a light tan head. Smell is a little nutty and malty. Taste is awesome, creamy, with hints of banana and cherries, a little alcoholic finish. A great, tasty beer. Had on tap at Hopmonk. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Sample via QueenHolly/Shrubber: Pours wood brown with a minimal, tan, soapy head. Scent is dust.............plum... Taste is toasty, dark fruit. Slight alcohol bitter, but very smooth, dry. A very subdued example of the style. Nicely done.

Draft - pours cloudy caramel with no head to speak of. Aromas of dark bread, malty fruit, hay and smoky figs and bubblegum. Tastes of dried figs, malted goodness, as well as a nutty sweet richness. Palate is medium bodied, sticky finish. Big burn at the end at 10%. Good, not quite the Eisbockiness one might expect.

Pint at JD’s tavern. Ok aroma, sweet, malty. Little fruity, apple, banana. Some spice. Clove. Clean brownish orange color, ok head, no lace. Sweet flavor, medium body, oily creamy mouthfeel, sweet finish. Well, this was awfully cold when I got it. Took most of my pint to get the aroma. Flavor was nice malty toward type. Good, easy drinking for abv

A - Pours a dark ruby-black with a thin finger of frothy off-white head. The head fades fairly quickly leaving behind some light lacing. S - Aroma is a mix of wheat, banana, clove, other yeast smells, dark fruits, spices, and some booze. T - Starts off with some wheat and dark malt flavors with some banana and spices. Through the middle, stronger banana flavor comes through with some clove, other yeast flavors and some dark fruity esters. The finish is mix of wheat, dark malts, banana, clove, dark fruit, and a bit of booze. M - Medium-full bodied with moderate carbonation. Feels smooth with a sweet and warming finish. D - Very drinkable. Good overall balance with good malt and yeast balance.
