Details: 50cl can.
Tasting notes: Pours a clear golden color with a tiny white head that fades away and leaves a headless beer. Aroma is sweet but almost not apparent. The flavor consists mainly of a slight sweetness, maybe some malts but in the end an alcoholic metal finish that ends dry but leaves some sticky sweetness in your mouth. Medium body, too few carbonisation in my opinion.
Conclusion: Quite a dissapointment. From al the Gorden Finest beers Ive had this one has the least flavor but the most alcohol. This makes me conclude that this beer is interesting if you want to get drunk easily, however considering the high price there are better alternatives.

Noctilucus (106) - All over Belgium, BELGIUM - JUN 29, 2012
Golden blonde colour with an amber gleam, quickly dissappearing head. The smell is very strong as of the first pour, reminds me of sweet aperitifs, fruity, alcoholic and with only a hint of beer. The taste is strong but cant hide that there is actually not that much body considering this is a 12% beer; its alcoholic, some malts but mostly warming alcoholic. Rather bitter but not excessive and at least its a proof there are some hops in there so this is really a beer. The sweet fruitiness that was at first apparent in the nose is not reflected in the taste. Little carbonation, maybe too little as that would help to take away from the predominant alcoholic impession. The aftertaste is bitter and still alcoholic but not very strong for a 12% beer. Strong but too little body and far too one-dimensional to be rated any higher. And I still wonder who on earth drinks 50 cl cans of such strong beer... cant be aimed at the student population since its not a cheap alternative to better brews.

The head is medium. It smells like rum, wooden-oak. The taste is alcoholic, gasy and a bit malty. To strong alcoholic. 10/2/3/3/12/2

Bought in Brussels from some night store (along with some others I didnt have in my hotel room, thank goodness). Best by mid Dec 2007, drank mid Dec 2006. This 50cl can was poured into two Thistle glasses, both halves look good, pale gold with a thin wispy, white head. Aroma of lemons and other citrus type fruits, slight bleach smell also. The alcohol takes over completely, but before it does their is a hoppy flavour that is also very pronounced. This is not an English Pale Ale, I dont know what it is either, but if you like your beers strong and getting waisted swiftly, this is your babe. It is like a good lager with an idiot dropping a double vodka in when you are not looking!

500 ml can. From finestshop.be.
Clear pale golden colour with small white head. Malt, alcohol, almond and play-doh in aroma. Very boozy flavour with alcohol, almond and sugary sweetness. This XXXtra strong beer is XXXtra bad. Who is this for? One of the worst Belgian beers ever.

Bottle at Cafe Buitenlust, Oirschot. (old rating) Dark yellow / golden color, off-white head. Decent smell and taste, mostly fruits, sweet and alcohol. Could have been worse.

8/05/2011 25cl can @ home - BB: 5/9/2010 (2011-196) Thanks to Peter for the can!

Note: you might consider the rating not to be fair, because the beer was past its best before date. But heres the thing: beer preserves better in can, plus: Gordon puts a very early BB date on their cans so they would be consumed faster.

Clear orange beer with some beige particles floating around. Aery white head, big bubbles, dissipates fast. Aroma: sweet malts, honey, candi sugar. MF: ok carbon, medium body and alcohol numbing my whole mouth. Taste: it doesnt taste like anything but alcohol? Hard to tell! A bit fruity, some citric hops. Aftertaste: just a little bitter, but mainly alcohol the whole effin time. Down the drain it goes, lifes too short to drink bad beer.
