50cl can from Delhaize. Pours clear dark golden with a quickly thinning, white head. The weak aroma contains maize, malt, alcohol, artificial sweetener and something chemical like solvent. It tastes medium to heavy sweet, hardly any bitterness, with burning and biting alcohol in the finish (which overpowers a cloying sweetness, even). Fizzy carbonation, slick texture, astringent alcoholic finish. At least the ’aroma’ is stronger than in the Finest Gold version. Utterly avoidable.

Bottle shared at the May THT. Pours a pale yellow with a white head. Sugary sweet boozy cardboard juice.

Can shared at THT May. Massive thanks to Maakun for this one, you ensure that the spirit of Dean lives on! Clear golden/small white/alcohol/sweet grain/sugar/crack.

Maakun (5393) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - MAY 19, 2017
Can at THT, bought when I was drunk in Belgium. Clear golden with small white head. Sweet cardboard, pils malts, massive sugar, light herbs, pure alcohol. Basically just sugar and alcohol. Very very sweet. Over medium bodied.

THT May at Kwartje. Clear pale straw with no head. Sweet chemical malts, sugar replacements and cardboard. Big sweet, light bitter. Medium body soft carbonation. Massive thanks Maakun!

Barwa złota, klarowne. Piana słaba, szybko znika. Aromat trochę owocowy, alkoholowy. W smaku dominuje alkohol, goryczka próbuje się przybić ale nie do końca się jej udaje.

ectuohy27 (1154) - ESTONIA - NOV 28, 2016
Weirdly light, normal-lager-seeming brew with relatively nothing much going on, except the 120% stronger kick. Certainly drinkable by my standards (16.9 oz can, nachtwinkel Elsene)

susonagger (202) - spain, - AUG 19, 2016

erickok (6037) - Leuven, BELGIUM - FEB 28, 2016
Horrible filtered looks, grey head. Sugar, full of alcohol, ethanol even. Ricola candy, alcohol heat. Horrible aroma but taste is somewhat acceptable. Just alcohol and those Alps herbs, but I expected a dreadful alcohol water taste. So still poor but I could finish the bottle. (33cl bottle from Comptoir Ferme de Mont-Saint-Jean)

The_Osprey (7881) - Richmond, Greater London, ENGLAND - DEC 18, 2015
Nov 2015 - 500ml can picked up in a petrol station in Brussels, shared in Steve’s car. As ’Gordon Finest Platinum XXXtra Strong’, 12%, BB Nov 2016. Everything about this beer exudes class. Dark amber orange, clear, small foamy off-white head. Aroma is apple skin, grains, background vinegar. Cheese on crackers with an apple chutney. Smells of the middle classes. Body is medium, smooth, low carbonation. Taste is paper, cardboard, white pepper, dry. Not too boozy given the 12%. In Belgium, it’s possible to pick up far better beers that are much cheaper than this. So what’s the point?
