COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Gordon Scotch Ale was born in the limpid highlands among isolated lochs and haunting Scottish castles. This brown beer, reminiscent of a dark ruby, is full of contrast - both strong and smooth. Its creamy head is delectation for the palate. This unique nectar can also be discovered under the name of Douglas Scotch Ale. Has been renamed ’Finest Scotch’ in 2006.
Note: ABV at some point from 8.6% to 8%.

mathieuc (3990) - Québec, Quebec, CANADA - SEP 9, 2016
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2016 Pours a dark brown with red highlights and a medium creamy white head that leaves pretty good lacing. Nose is of caramel, light peat/smoke and alcohol. Taste is moderately sweet and offers toffee, granulated unrefined sugar, caramel and smoke. A little boozy but not that much. Body is a bit light overall and carbonation moderate. A little syrupy, still, with some very light maple syrup impressions. Sticky. A fine scotch ale, far from world class but still a pretty good sipper.

Served in Teku glass from a 330ml bottle. Pours clear ruby amber with a thick creamy head. Aroma is caramel, molasses, bread, dried dark fruits and a hint of yeast. Taste is molasses, bread, caramel malts, moderate sweetness is balanced with bitterness, lovely subtle sourness in the finish. Full body with medium carbonation, slightly sticky texture. Very nice and not too sweet Scotch Ale! Lovely and sooooo enjoyable!!!

Bottle from bierlinie in Berlin. Smells sweet, toffee, chocolate, dried fruit. Taste starts sweet, but develops into a bread, chocolate taste. Hints of the scotch in the finish. Decent.

UPDATED: AUG 16, 2016 Pours clear ruby with a medium tan head. Nose of caramel, toast, dried fruit. Tastes sweet with just a hint of bitterness and sourness on finish. Full body, medium carbonation, a little sticky. Not bad but lacks complexity, and a bit too sweet for my taste.

Aus der Flasche im Mommseneck getrunken. Klares Braun mit stabilem beigem Schaum. In der Nase malziger Alkohol, der sich beim Trinken noch verstärkt.

bottle: pours a red brown dark maple syrup colour with a nice tan head that dissipates quickly....dried fruit, caramel, and butterscoch dominate the aroma that is a little subdued....definite ester action going on in this one = butterscotch, toffee....maltiness...definite sweetness...a nutty taste as well...alcohol noticeable ..I’m not a fan really of scotch ales but this one is growing on me ....well balanced
