Pours dark brown with a nice thick head. Smoky, nutty, and woodsy. Not a strong aroma. Not as distinct as other Christmas ales.

UPDATED: JUN 7, 2014 Too much malt sweetness in there for me, and I have just never been a fan of that kind of english hops. apart from this - this beer was okay. Alot of sweetness (honey syrup caramel) and malts with some spices and hops.

75cl bottle shared with family. The beer has a browned body with a beige medium fizzy to creamy head that doesnt stay long. The aroma of this beer is very sweet and warm, with hints of dark malt, sugar, caramel, spices and herbs. The taste has that same sweet and warm feeling. Definitely caramel and sugar. This is a quite strong but doesnt taste like one. Nice beer for this time of the year.

33cl bottle, The Dram Shop, Sheffield, UK. Ruby tinged amber with a thin dough coloured head. Faint raisin and pudding aroma, sweet with more raisin and prune coming through. Very little detectable alcohol for the strength. Merry Xmas.
