Bottle, at home. Dark brown with a large light brown head, mostly diminishing, excellent lacings. Aroma moderate to heavy malty (coffee, chocolate, caramel, dark fruit) and moderate hoppy. Flavor moderate to heavy sweet, moderate bitter. Medium to full body, creamy, soft carbonated. The alcohol is moderate to heavy.

750ml bottle bought at Delhaize - FoodLions in Belgium. Pours dark brown with tan head. Aroma of dark fruits and malts. Taste is caramel malty, thick mouthfeel with lingering dark fruits - cherry and prunes - and candi sugar topping the whole for a sweet and yet warming boozy finish. I grew up loving all of the John Martin beers especially their Xmas beer; one that always had a good spot in our fridge.

Beese (2740) - Watford, Hertfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 27, 2014
Bottle from Beers of Europe. Poured a bright ruby with a thin, dense off-white head. Spicy aroma with tempered notes of toffee and molasses sweetness. Initial flavours of grassy hop, orange peal and cloves. More spiciness on the finish with nutmeg, ginger, cinnamon and some grain. Lots of festive flavours all in harmony.

lello4ever (987) - ITALY - JAN 1, 2017
