Bottle 50cl.pivnizub (10905) - Bochum, GERMANY - NOV 17, 2007
Clear medium yellow orange color with a average, frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white to white head. Aroma is moderate malty, grain, hay, light to moderate hoppy, grass, citrus. Flavor is moderate to light heavy sweet and bitter with a average to long duration. Body is medium, texture is watery to oily, carbonation is soft.
Bottle (purchased at the brewery, Jonas, danke trotzdem !): Straw golden, clear, mid-sized white head, sticking to the glass, sweet-grainy nose with some citrus-fruity influences; sweetish-bitter flavour, light bodied, but not empty at all; mild, but distinctive citrus-fruitiness in the pale-malty finish. A good, refreshing Helles.......... DarkElf (3067) - La Jolla, California, USA - AUG 12, 2008
06-May-08 (500-ml bottle, Best by June, 2008: Free sample bottle for stewarding the 2008 World Beer Cup in San Diego, CA) Though the flavor is pleasant and balanced, what this beer lacks is a little gumption. Malts are grainy and very mildly sweet, and hops are lightly bitter and fairly spicy, but the overall impression is light and airy. Grainy malts are the prominent component, with hops much farther in the background. Light-medium in body, the carbonation is medium but soft, and the hops do a nice job keeping the palate clean and refreshed. The head is a bit overactive, pouring over two inches of stiff, large-bubbled foam. The body is golden in color with a slight cloudiness. As the head slowly settles down, it leaves large rings of foam on the glass. Overall, it’s pleasant but ordinary.
