Bottle sample @ SMÖF. Copper coloured with a medium offwhite head. Sweet fruity aroma with huge diacetyl notes. Taste is quite similar. Sweet and fruity with loads of butterscotch. Taste: sweet with light spicy bitterness.

Hazy brown beer. Tons of butter and rotten fruits in the nose. A rather watery texture. Tastes of fruits and butter. Small head, carbonation, brown, hazy. Rotten fruit, caramel, wet grain. Watery body, refreshing but sweet taste with some rotten dusty finish.

(Kiev 2016) Most of a 1000 ml. swing-top bottle at Klaipeda. BBF 30.09.2016. Pours dark brown bread, quite hazy with a tanned creamy head. Nose is thick bread, massively milky rye bread, low fermenting milk sour bread in a pleasant fashion & some black bread. Taste is pleasantly faintly sour with low sour milky bread, low kvass notes, bread, touch neutral overall actually, easy to drink, low moldy leaves in the finish do spoil it a bit as do some minor spoiled yoghurt notes, faint butter, low mold in the back, touch too neutral on top oddly, dark bread. This stuff is not off the charts weird or anything but it is a bit outside of the norm. It’s very hazy and orange w/ a big creamy head. It’s has a very fruity almost Belgian yeast quality to it and a solid depth of roasty and toasty malt notes. It’s creamy on the palate yet dry and quite drinkable. My example did not seem to be perfectly fresh--and I would love to try this again sometime when it is--but it still outshines many American craft brews, esp. in terms of having malt depth w/o being all kinds of stupidly sweet. 1l paper-sealed swingtop bottle. Slightly different label. Top pops with a bang and a bit of champagne-like gush. Pour is super carbonae with a large foamy head and a ruddy brown body. Aroma is roasty with hints of nuts and spice, oxidized but not too much (maybe in part to the large vessel). The head sticks around for a good while, you can tell it is unfiltered and probably unpasteurized. There is some caramel and dark bread scent as well. Flavor is nice, smoky, leathery, a ton of savory herbs, it is dry and effervescent, bit of oxidized character but not the worst stuff. Glad to try this traditional beer which is rare on the shelves around here. And I appreciate it isn’t the most expensive stuff around though I bet it is under a euro for this in its homeland. Unfiltered/hazy amber color with lively whiteish foam. Aromas quite plain, mainly soft and nice malt smell that is typical to Lithuanian beer. Palate, light, full body and lovely long bitter aftertaste. With this beer it starts off easy and develops as it goes so it gets better. Taste of malt mainly, bit of smoke and quite simple but I love it. Overall good traditional Lithuanian beer, simple but smooth and full taste so, recomended.
