Amber. Aroma is carrots, gummy bears, bonbon (not too sweet), buttery, breze. Taste is slightly grassy hinge with lots of malt in the body. Very drinkable. Fucking balanced. Finish is more malty chewiness. A masterpiece.

Bottle from the brewery, 10days after being bottled, many thanks MoritzF! Unclear amber-orange color with white head. Aroma is smoky, juicy pale malts, a touch carrots, hay, gummy bears. Taste is juicy pale malts, ham, buttery, but the best type, rustic and clean at the same time in a very unique way; this is basically a Butterbreze with ham, mineralic finish. Oily mouthfeel with medium carbonation. Very, very tasty. I cannot wait to try this fresh - this bottle seems to already be over.

Bottle, danke Max! Amber, golden foam. Smoked Butterbreze, hay. Medium full chewy mellow body. Rural - hay, smoked, chewy grains, caramel, light fruit and gummy bears, earthy smoke retronasal. Remarkable - clean and barn at the same time.

(bottle) opalescent deep amber colour with a frothy off-white head. aroma of raisins and butterscotch, with a light hint of chai spice, some carrots, honey-smoked malts and dandelions. flavour is more smoked ham and minerally malts, with a hint of floral hops, some more carrot juice and a light-bitter herbal-hoppy finish. medium-bodied with lively carbonation.

(on tap at Seinsheim and swing top bottle at home) Hazy, deep golden colour with a medium-sized, almost beige foamy head. Bready malty and yeast-spicy aroma with toasted cereals, almost smoky and hammy with traces of herbal hops. Moderately bitter and slightly sweet flavour, light to medium bodied with a well-carbonated mouthfeel. Mildly bready malt-accented taste with balanced hops character, cereals, a whiff of barnyard and again hammy notes, most probably due to the open fire under the brewing cettle; lasting and rounded sweet-bitter, mildly hoppy finish with toasted cereals and this unbelievable tasty smoky tail. 08. & 14.XII.17

Pour from the fermentation tank @ the brewery. Hazy tiny burnt golden pour with a frothy offwhite head. Rustic malty nose with plenty of lovely fresh German floral hops. Honey, fried flowers, hay & minerals. tiny sweet, bitter, malty & floral taste. Soft, round & tiny astringent mouthfeel. Amazingly soft & balanced. Soft rustic bread malts & lovely floral hops. Absolutely amazing!

Draught at the brewery in Seinsheim,Germany. Hazy golden beer with a nice offwhite head. Bready cereal aroma, caramel, nuts, slightly fruity, biscuits, some grassy hops. Wonderful balanced malt profile with biscuits, cereal notes, grassy hops, sun flower seeds (yes, i stole this from a previous rating, but its true...), tiny spicy, some roasted notes. Great mouthfeel, great beer!

Draft at Seinsheimer Kellerbräu, August 15, 2014: Slightly hazed orangish golden. Lathery foam hangs around with admirable persistence. Sublime nose of gentle smoke, freshly planed wood / elegant sawdust, smoked minerals, melanoidins, cookie, apricot, piecrust, toasted hay. Full and soft carbonation with a tiny-bubbled lushness. Richly toasty and hay-dusty pils malt unites with a bracing sweep of cleansing minerals which gracefully penetrate the hefty poundcakey melanoidins. Flavors are awash with minerals and pure, luscious, vivid malt, including dry cookie edges which underscore the profoundly rich, well-detailed base. Endlessly layered malt drips and drips with juices, and dishes out a host of interesting flavors like tobacco, pecan, almond skin and fresh baked cookies. Turkish apricot and sappy marmalade flavors infuse the core with a subtle fruitiness as they ooze their luscious richness which contributes additional vibrancy to the well-polished, beautifully restrained residual sugars. Fluffy, seemingly creamy rauch character, adds pep and tempers the sweetness with intriguing sawdust accents; not at all raspy or meaty. Zippy minerals synergize with a sophisticated splash of sizzling hop acids and a peppery, lemony Spalt zing. Refined hoppiness continually whispers its rustic woodiness and herbality amid the ongoing malty lushness. Immeasurably deep and hearty malt exhibits an unprecedented richness, yet the few caramelized sugars it leaves behind are so beautifully cleaned up by the immaculately clean, well-lagered fullness. Pronounced minerals elegantly cradle the perpetual maltiness in the artfully balanced finish. It’s hard to not sound hyperbolic when describing something so magical, but this is a brewing triumph of the highest order. Nitpicking the nose, I would love to see a tad more hops, but this is perfection in a glass and love at first sniff. Never before have I experienced this kind of oily, sappy and creamy texture in malt before, even in Franconia. But, wow, is it here in mouthwatering layers! Surreally rich and pure. I always wanted to believe there was another Andreas Gänstaller-level brewer out there in the world, and evidently he goes by the name of Frank Engelhardt and runs the smallest brewery in Lower Franconia. Beer of the year.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2014 From draft at Seinsheimer Kellerbräu. Hazed amber-orange with a creamy and billowy white head.
A restrained touch of smoked malt plays with honey melanoidins, mineral-heavy water, nutty pastry breads and toasted sunflower seeds... an old world bakery in liquid form... distant campfire being smelled through a humid forest.... The aroma comparable to Gänstaller Bräu Golden Smoked Zoigl (a 5.0 for me) - not something that I ever expected to find again. It’s less hoppy and bitter than Golden Smoked Zoigl, the hops imparting subtle pepper-citrus notes, but make no mistake, this is a malt experience all the way. Highly caramelized, the richness in the mouth is jaw-dropping... honey malt and minerals the finish see no end... the mouth feel is lush, creamy, unbelievably soft, again, Gänstaller-level. This is an absolute stunner, would not be out of place in an Oberpfalz Zoiglstube. The husband and wife team brewing in small kettles are creating magic that is rare to find in this crowded world of beer. Seinsheimer Kellerbräu is now on our map, and a visit to Franconia will no longer feel complete without a hearty glass of this remarkable beer.
The brewers tap it directly from the maturation tank, and fill a small number of bottles sold at the brewery.
