Hoppy, bitter, fruity, herbal pale lager. Not bad, but nothing that would remind me of a Pilsener.

From bottle. Pale pilsner looking creature with a fluffy white head and plenty of sparkle. A nose of grapefruit, lime and lemon peel. Good flavours and tangy bitterness and a good finish. Clean, tasty pils.

Basically tastes like a decent pilsner. Nose isn’t too remarkable, slightly fruity. Tastes like honey with a hint of tropical fruit. Slight bitterness at the end. Has enough flavor to maintain interest but not so much that it distracts you from whatever you’re doing, thus making it exceptionally sessionable. Much like everything from Founder’s new lineup it’s competent but not exciting, can’t really complain for $15 a six pack though.

Keg - Founders Brewery Cafe, Nelson. A clear golden colour with a fine, disappearing white head atop. Zesty citrus and bready malt characters dominate. Great thirst-quencher and palate-cleanser. Light to medium body, soft to medium carbonation with a crisp mouthfeel and clean but moderately lengthy finish.

Lemon juice and zest, sweet tea (with lemon), lime meringue, dried grass, flowers, etc. Very fragrant beer and a joy to sniff, lots of fruit and flowers with no resin. Expressive malt sugar well matched with vibrant hoppiness, it’s bitter but remains lip smacking and quenching. Light touch of yeast softened the already-creamy Pilsner malt mouthfeel, and the pillowy carbonation adds to the enjoyment.. Not the most complex drinker but very easy to get into. From draft.

Not bad at all. Another decent, if unremarkable beer that probably anybody can drink. Another good gateway beer for a gateway BBQ.

The head is medium, the body gold. It smells malty. The taste is malty, bit hoppy, bit bitter, bit watery. 2.6
