COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Our definitive Pilsner has crisp dry fruity flavours, a mild bitterness and a lasting hop aroma. It is jumped up, moreish, and what in the nineties one might have described as “primo”.

On tap at Vultures Lane. Pours pale. Slick body. Reasonably crisp. Dry grassiness, peach, lemon, nutty malts. Pretty dull.

2016-05-12. Very lightly hazy pale yellow body small quick white head. Aroma is a bit odd at first, lightly grassy. Something I can’t put a name to. Flavour is lightly bitter, floral hops over sweetish lightly doughy pale malt. 6++ Average bodied palate, moderate carbonation. Okay but a touch odd at times. 6/3/6-7/3/12+ On tap at Craft, Hamilton, NZ.

Aroma is nice, in that it doesn’t smell of gluggy adjuncts; it’s just a nice, clean, pilsnery smell of hay, grass and white pepper. It aint overly-hopped (which is good for a pilly) but the cleanliness of the malt allows what hops there are to shine through. Simple done well with good ingredients = good pilsner.

I have my doubts about this beer, in fact I will probably have to come back and re-rate it as this example was a bit ugly. Lush yellow golden colour with a temporary white head. The body was hazy and had plenty of sediment lazily circulating around in it. Aromas of mango and pine needles with a touch of oxidised wet carboard. Bright and spritzy in the mouth with a good dose of pine needles and locquot. A good twist of bitterness comes through as well prolonging the taste. As ugly as it is, I’ve seen worse and a bit of sediment won’t kill me. The flavour was pretty good and I would go back for another.

hoppy and fruity, this is a great summer beer, best consumed in the legendary Leigh Sawmill. Dry with a lingering bitterness

Pours a slightly hazy gold with lasting white head. Aromas of citrus and mango. Slightly piny. Flavors bring tropical fruits: mango, pineapple, banana, orange. Very ’ale-like’ for a lager. Flavors linger somewhat but then disappear before you realize it. Dry-ish finish. Solid beer, but I’m not sure pilsner is the right category.

Nice. Fruity on the nose, beautiful soft flowery palate, slightly tingly, with a mild hop bitterness to finish with. Just a solid pilsner.
