From the bottle. Pours light golden and clear. Aroma is light grain and some straw hops. Just a touch of biscuit flavor followed by clove and grass finish.

3fourths (9358) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - FEB 10, 2016
Bottle. Clear light amber-gold with a thin white head. Aroma is lightly malty in the way of toasted grains, honey, sachharine; hoppy in the faint of lemon and dried herbs (noble strain?). Light bodied, lightly sweet with low bitterness. Carbonation is rough and the finish is quick, there’s no depth to it but both malt and hop are expressed suitably, which in Costa Rica is a rarity.

On tap at The Courtyard @ SJO airport
Cloudy golden with a small white head, good lacing. Aroma is fruity and citrus. Flavor is citrus, bitter and fruity
Not bad but too bitter to be enjoyable. This comes after drinking Imperial all day, kind of disappointed.

hombrepalo (1972) - Chicago, Illinois, USA - AUG 4, 2015
4oz sample at CR beer factory. Pours amber/orange with an off-white head. Slight fruity hop notes, yeasty and caramel malt base with a bitter/crisp finish.

Ernest (7817) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 31, 2015
Draft at Courtyard/Marriott in Alajuela. Head is mostly diminishing. Body is medium to dark yellow. Aroma is lightly to moderately malty (grain, husks), lightly hoppy (apricot), with a note of DMS. Flavor is moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly bitter. Finish is lightly to moderately sweet, lightly acidic, lightly to moderately bitter, slightly husky. Medium body, watery texture, lively carbonation. A rather husky but otherwise innocuous rendition...not very good but a lot better than Imperial and its ilk.

Draft: New microbrewery from Costa Rica, they have good distribution and serve draft & bottled. Beers are OK (is this owned my the macro brewery?), #7 is thin, plain, simple. Food Pairing: Ceviche.
