Cask; Wetherspoon Special.
This is a full-tasting, but deceptively drinkable, classic golden ale, with a clean, precise flavour and full hop character. Hops used: Goldings, Saaz.

CASK at standing order (edinburgh) beerfestival. Cliamed to be 5,5% ... Light amber ... light fresh hoppy nose ... sweet pleasent medicinal tones ... rich honeyish with hint of lime. There a nice flavour in this i cant quite place.

Cask (5.5%) at the William Morris (JDW), Hammersmith. Straw with a thin white head; fresh citrus aroma; smooth and oily with a citrus flavour with some spiceiness; a gently persistent bitter finish.

Cask at Banker’s Draft (JDW), Bedford, Wetherspoons Festival ’07. Gold with a small white head. Sugary aroma with unidentified exotica. Sweet malty taste, slightly spiced, with a bit of smokey bitterness. A little warm. Otherwise liked it.

Counting house at wetherspoons beer fest. (5.5%)Aroma is sweet and slightly butter spicey malts. Taste is similar, though a good amount of spice and pepperyness , perhaps even alcohol, balances.

SilkTork (5855) - Southampton, United Kingdom, Hampshire, ENGLAND - JAN 22, 2008
Cask at JDW, Rochester during the Wetherspoon Festival, Nov, 2007 as Gouden Carolus Blond with Goldings & Saaz. Spicy blond with that balance of lager and ale that some blonds have. The spice dominates with some interesting yeast notes building in the finish. The malt feels thin and undistinguished, especially for a 5.5% - and that is probably the result of a fuller attenuation than is common for British ales. Long, lingering foam head - wheat? There are some wheat characteristics coming through - a slight tastiness and a sour note in the nose. Wheat is a feature of blond beers. The yeast is Belgian, and gives the Belgian character. Interesting drop.

Cask handpull at County Hotel, Ashford. Belgian yeast and peach aroma. Bit watery in mouth. Decent blond ale, bit too sweet but nice to have something different

Simple yet elegant, mouthfeel grew to be quite nice, not going to knock you off of your bar stool.
