Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Rood is a strong blond beer that was launched in 2008 on the occasion of "10 years Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Blauw". However, it contains more types of malt and 3 different kinds of herbs are added during the brewing process.

Its bright golden color, high alcohol percentage and full and well-balanced taste make this ale a genuine source of vitality and power which will please even the most critical connoisseur.

For ideal savoring, gently pour out in one fluent movement, at a temperature of 7-8° C (45-46°F). Proudly poured it is savored with respect. Those who like a refreshing, heavy and somewhat spicy beer, choose this blonde ale.

Colore dorato, schiuma media poco persistente. Aromi di malto, lievito e miele. All'assaggio note di arancia, miele e spezie. Corpo medio, carattere dolce e finale lungo leggermente secco. Un birra molto beverina nonostante la gradazione alcolica, pulita ed equilibrata in cui le note zuccherine si fanno sentire.

Tasting @ Koelschtrinker, 2016er. Sweetish sticky beginning. Intense malty, plums, red fruit. Malty sticky finish, very dry with bitter hints. Nice and deep, a bit sticky, alcoholic parts. Nice.

Bottled. The body is hazy yellow with a large white head. The aroma has some fruits and marmalade. The taste is great. Cognac with pear wine. Lovely.

Spab (4143) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - DEC 1, 2017
750 ml bottle from LCBO. Pours a cloudy golden orange with moderate-sized white head. Aroma is lively tree fruit, sugars, spice and grains. Flavour is sweet pear, apricot, grains, clove and some citrus. Alcohol is dangerously subtle. Nice.

It pours clear gold; the head is off white and foamy. The aroma has notes of: apricots, toffee, yeasty esters, raisins, and toast. The taste is medium sweet with a light bitterness. The palate is medium-light bodied with medium carbonation, and has a long finish. Overall, it's tasty, however forgettable.

Koelschtrinker (21850) - K?ln (Cologne), GERMANY - NOV 28, 2017
Künstlicher, süß hefiger Antrunk. Apfelringe, süß-herb, trocken, unrund. Koriander, langer Nachhall. Okay. 10/8/9/8/9/9

750ml bottle from LCBO. Pours an opaque golden colour with half of finger of lasting head. Aromas of banana, caramel, Belgian yeast. Taste matches the aroma with some sweet peach, and honey notes. Also a subtle citrusy a herb flavour can be detected towards the finish. Medium - full bodied with moderate carbonation and some stickiness on the palate. What a nice surprise after their not so great 2017 blue label. Excellent Belgian Strong Ale! A must-try for Belgian beer lans.

Zlotta (3984) - Hagen / Düsseldorf, GERMANY - NOV 25, 2017
Sampled from 0.75 l bottle from 'BierPost.com', 2016 vintage, best before June 2019. Slightly hazy, golden yellow with a medium large, frothy, stable, white head. Sweetish, rather spicy, slightly yeasty and a bit fruity aroma of banana, coriander, vanilla and some clove. Moderately sweet, slightly bitter, rather spicy, slightly yeasty and a bit grassy taste of Belgian candy, banana, clove, coriander and some honey, followed by a medium long, moderately bitter, rather spicy and slightly yeasty finish. Medium body, slightly effervescent mouthfeel, average carbonation. Quite nice, a bit too spicy though.
