Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Rood is a strong blond beer that was launched in 2008 on the occasion of "10 years Gouden Carolus Cuvée van de Keizer Blauw". However, it contains more types of malt and 3 different kinds of herbs are added during the brewing process. Its bright golden color, high alcohol percentage and full and well-balanced taste make this ale a genuine source of vitality and power which will please even the most critical connoisseur. For ideal savoring, gently pour out in one fluent movement, at a temperature of 7-8° C (45-46°F). Proudly poured it is savored with respect. Those who like a refreshing, heavy and somewhat spicy beer, choose this blonde ale.

750 ml bottle. 2012 vintage. Cloudy orangey golden color with a small white head. Amazing aroma of green apples, caramel, yeast and toffee. Heavenly aroma. Do I wanna ruin this by tasting this? The flavor is yeast, bitterness, caramel, toffee, sweetness and malt. This really is yummy. More please. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

A great tripel, but lacks an acid note. Overall a great beer, but I got my preferences for less sweet-round beers.

Mooi goudblond licht troebel bier met romige witte schuimkraag. Superlekkere diepere romige smaak. Peertjes, calvados, likeurachtige smaak. Hele lange, fruitige, licht alcoholische, afdronk. Topklasse !!!

Bottle, 75cL. @Naintré with my dad. A yellow-brown opaque hazy beer with a big foamy white head ; good retention and lacing. Fruits (pear, light peach), flower, herb, biscuit, alcohol. Medium to heavy sweet, round, warming heavy ; bitter note. Full body, silky texture, average carbonation, warming sugary fruity finish. Overall, ok fruity sweet warming belgian ale ; too sugary and "heavy".

Pours hazy medium yellow with largish frothy white head. Aroma is cereal, coriander, some anis, Belgian yeast, note of green apple, sugar, honey. Medium sweet, medium bitter, long bitter aftertaste with some alcohol. Body is full, palate is almost creamy, carbonation is rather high.

Shared corked & caged, 750 ml. bottle poured to snifters, showing a hazed, orangey gold color, with a presentable, fairly lasting head of soft white foam, and good cling to the ribbons & spots of lacing. The nose was light plantain, some spicy phenols, light fruit as a mixture of pit fruit & citrus, and candy/syrupy sweetness. The taste continued the light fruitiness and amped sweetness, with lively carbonation, moderate bitterness, and a steady but non-overpowering warmth, in a somewhat medium body. A fairly decent, Golden Strong Ale, but would have preferred some dryness, and a little less sweetness.
