Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers.

Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm).

5 types of hops are used in this beer. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma.

Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

Zarrach76 (270) - Grenoble, FRANCE - OCT 26, 2016
Bouteille 33cl, V&B Grenoble.

Aroma: Flowers, herbs, spice, some esters, quite metallic. Appearance: Golden, bit hazy color, head white, very high, has big holes from the beginning. Taste: Medium biterness which lingers, spices, herbs, esters, metal, not very intesive taste, flowers, biterness is the most intensive note, although it is not of high-quality. Palate: Finish is semi-dry, body is medium, carbonation is very high.

Senka (1082) - Tallinn, ESTONIA - JUL 27, 2016
33cl Pours pale yellow, like a simple eastern european lager. Either a strong single hop aroma, or a smooth balance of multiple hops. Pleasant and uniform. Fair malty base, and strong bitterness. Feels like a homebrew, and has some powderness to it. I do not know why - there is no sediment. Feels like water used is rather hard. In a blind tasting, I would consider this to be a fortified lager, with a strong malty base. It Smooth textured, medium carbonation, gentle and easy finish for the ABV. Good to try, as it is not a typical BSA in my opinion.
