COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers.

Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm).

5 types of hops are used in this beer. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma.

Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

Cloudy gold pour with a thin head. Lots of lace left behind. Creamy mouth. Banana aroma. Taste is a little metallic. Some strange after taste in the yeast.

Bottle. Foggy golden colour. Huge fluffy white head. Aroma: fruity & spicy yeast. Gooseberry? Medium body. Medium dry taste. A lot of flavour. Nice yeast. Subdued malts. Solid hopping. Very good.

Sampled from a bottle from Utobeer in Borough Market. Hazy golden amber colour with a foaming white head. Aromas of malt and yeast. The malt flavvour is powerful and attractive with sweet notes of brioche and fruits. Lots of yeasty flavours and plenty of a grassy and herbal bitterness. A delicious and complex beer.

33cl bottle at home (26 X 2017), shared with LordZippo. Quite a hazy, good looking triple, yellow-orange-almost-golden coloured brew with towering, snowy collar, white and cloudy. This classic tripel is beautifully hopped with five kinds of hops, making up for a herby-mild and enjoying character. Such a cheerful brew. A sweet honey nose accompanies different grainy, wheaty flavours. Appealing for sure. Fritzy mouthfeel with dry and herby dashes. Great all round palate, warming alcoholic feeling, dry ending. There is some 'fraicheur' in there as well, resembling rather minthy notes - vanilla even. Sugar, grassy and almost fruity features add to the strong ale tasting experience. Great sour-dry-hoppy-sweet balance.

Where Purchased: 347ml bottle from a mixer pack from the LCBO Consumed: from a Gouden Carolus chalice Aroma: Smells fainlty hoppy and malty. Appearance : unfiltered medium gold with lots of head that last to the last drop. Excellent sticky lacing. Bits of yeast floating and then settling. Taste: the head it BITTER, but the beer is well balanced. Its a hopped Belgian dubble or triple. Not 50 IBU, but possibly 30. Palate : medium body. Bitter and slight sweet aftertaste. Great carbonation. Overall: very well balanced. I was nervous to try, especially taking some head off and finding it bitter (beer barely fits in their glasses). I was glad to try abd will seek out this, and the other beers in the mixer again. MB. The Beer "Bear"on.

Very good distinctive hoppy flavor, which gives this Belgian Ale a new aspect, that became much more popular lately. Which I highly appreciate.

Yellow color, hazed, big white creamy head, infinitely persistent. Big hoppy smell. Aroma of fresh pale malts and lots of resiny hops, very ’green’. Spiced yeast, green apple, some cider and white wine, likely champenoise fermentation? Very tasty, citrus and tart still maintaining a nice sweetness and strong bitterness. Finish quite dry, perfumed, with solvent tones as abv is quite high, but not distracting. Very very nice, crisp, sparkling, liked a lot.
