COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers.

Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm).

5 types of hops are used in this beer. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma.

Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

Bottled. A golden beer with a bit of sediment floating around under a nice off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of yeast and fruits, as well as medium notes of dusty hops. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, peaches, dusty hops, alcohol, and yeast, leading to a dry yeasty and fruity finish.

Bottled. Clear golden with fair sized airy head. Rich grassy resiny hop aroma. Sweet with medium-full body, dense mouthfeel. Fruity with some warming alcohol and almondy yeast. Resiny bitter finish. Good and with lots of taste, but more powerful than elegant.

Papsoe (25063) - Frederiksberg, DENMARK - OCT 11, 2008
(Bottle 75 cl) Pours a very hazy golden with floating impurities and a tall, frothy shaving foam-style lacing head. Aroma of yeast and fruit - very Belgian - and add to that quite some hoppiness. Quite full-bodied with sweetish malt and fruit and a fairly dry and bitter hop finish. 050908

On tap at the Kulminator, and bottled at Granville Moore’s. A well-hopped, bitter and refreshing beer with faint hints of citrus. Nice one. Better on tap.
Earlier Rating: 9/16/2010 Total Score: 3.5
Bottle at Den Stillen Genieter. Fairly hoppy, decent enough blonde beer, refreshing and easy to drink.

Cloudy gold beer. Huge frothy blooming head that keeps rising and spilling! Dry malt nose with wheaty fruits. Dry palate. Sweetish Saison like malts with some creaminess to it. Undertone of a little citrus. A little too dry and bitter for my tastes but one of the more drinkable beers from one of my least favourite brewers!
