Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers. Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm). 5 types of hops are used in this beer. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma. Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma. 50 IBU / 18.6 Plato

Bottle from Berts Bierhuis in Utrecht. The beer has a gold-yellow color and a light tinted large head, with a lot of bubbles. The aroma contains a lot of herbs, with tones of coriander. Further flowers and a hint of oranges. The taste is full and strong also dry with tones of walnuts. The finish is soft, with a nice bitterness from the hops. Theyve done a good job with this beer, it reminds me a little of triple beer.

Cloudy blonde with creamy white head. Nose not all that hoppy, but really in this hop bomb world... Mild malt nose, some resin, A little citrus. The beer is still full of good Belgian yeastiness, nice malts, the hops are not overwhelming. Resin and again a little citrus, with a lingering bitterness. Solid beer.

Eher ungewhnlich fr Belgien.

Bottle. BB Date Jul 2011; Drank Jul 2011. Golden Yellow in colour. Thick and lasting head and lacing; good carbonation. Aroma of yeast, fruit and hops. Yeasty; lots of grainy floaties and sediment. Very Fruity; orange citrus and peaches. Spicy, peppery. Malty; sweet malts, some candy sugar. Hoppy; grassy and resinous hops. Sweet fruity and spicy throughout leading to a dry mildly bitter aftertaste. Lovely Beer! (2011-07-03)

Excellente! Cheers!

Bottle from Pivoteka. Finally! A beer from one of my favorite breweries that Id managed to miss out on for years. Shared with heavy. Murky yellow body with a medium to big white head, thick. Fruity aroma, honey, jam, herbal hoppiness, dust, mint and grainy notes. Complex and pleasant. Dry, herbal, slightly citrusy sweetish herbal hoppy taste, notes of mint, slightly dusty. Very well hidden alcohol. A superb classic hop-driven Belgian blonde, without flaws and quite enjoyable. Exactly what I expected!

Pours very hazy gold with dense pile of foam. Aroma is hoppy. Taste is sweet with a hoppy bitter finish. Notes of light malt, lemon, bready yeast, spiciness, and loads of grassy hops. Medium bodied with plenty of carbonation. Very Belgian, very hoppy. I think this might be a Belgian IPA. It doesnt represent the best of either, but it does offer an unusual take on both.

Geel/goude kleur. Het bier heeft meer weg van een Belgian Strong Golden Ale dan een IPA. Een wat zurig aroma, met wat bloemige hop. Smaak is licht zurig met wat kruidigheid.
