Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers.

Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm).

5 types of hops are used in this beer. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma.

Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

bought at LCBO, Ottawa Pours pale hazy with beautiful thick white head the overall picture in my glass reminds me of a whit or Weiss. aroma shows signs of citrus texture is quite thin with a fizzy carbonation, which kind of turns me off for a 8% belgium beer. not my favourite, but still a great pick for the price.

Blonde, aromatic, some slightly fruity hops. Easy drinking.

Colore giallo dorato, schiuma abbondante e persistente, media carbonazione.

Just white head stayed well on a murky, highly carbonated, thick orange coloured body. Big aroma of sweet orange, Belgium yeast & bitter citrus. Medium bodied. Very very sharp on the tongue. Very tingly. Clean on the back. This is bitter citrus, masses of orange, hoppy & lots of typical Belgium yeast tastes. An unusual Belgium but one to try.

Bottle of 33cl, in a Tulip glass; from the fridge. Nice blond beer, with a beautiful creamy/fuzzy white head. The aroma, as the taste, is powerfull : full of yeast and hop. But even with the five hops, we arent in front of an IPA, but well in front of a nice Belgian Blond Ale. Go for it.

Pours clear golden with a big, frothy, white head that lasts. The aroma contains malt, citrus, hops, herbs, some pepper. It tastes light sweet and medium to heavy bitter, but the hops never become aggressive. Creamy texture, fizzy carbonation, long balanced finish.

(2014-15 Rating deleted?) Resampled 33cl bb12/2017, BLsampler. - Does with the refined-all-too refined Carolus range what it might have learned from De Dolle Arabier: introduce European earthy hoppiness in a golden strong ale/tripel malt bed. Earthy citrus, pepper, apple freshness laced through cakey biscuit and a yeastiness so refined it might as well be the recondensated dirty lees of evaporated fine champagne. Bit of a green herbal bite in finish - Saaz-y in its Belgian deployment. Reliable dry hoppy belgian, but no match for the work of art that is Arabier.

Bottle at The Capital. Hazy orange amber, good head. Light lemon hop aroma. Grain yeasty lemon flavour. Light spicy pine aftertaste. Good one.
