COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle: Unfiltered
Origin: Gouden Carolus Hopsinjoor completes the taste pallet of the gamma Carolus-beers.

Name: "Hopsinjoor" is a wordplay to for one thing the several hops which were used, and on the other hand the typical character of Mechelen of Gouden Carolus: the figure "opsinjoor" is intertwined with the history of Mechelen (see: www.opsinjoorke.be/Opsinjoorke/opsinjoor.htm).

5 types of hops are used in this beer. These hops were fractioned at several times in the cooking process in order to keep a maximum of aroma.

Regarding to taste we can say that the beer has a gentle, but nevertheless bitter aftertaste. Gold-yellow colour. Hoppy aroma.

bought at LCBO, Ottawa Pours pale hazy with beautiful thick white head the overall picture in my glass reminds me of a whit or Weiss. aroma shows signs of citrus texture is quite thin with a fizzy carbonation, which kind of turns me off for a 8% belgium beer. not my favourite, but still a great pick for the price.

Very good distinctive hoppy flavor, which gives this Belgian Ale a new aspect, that became much more popular lately. Which I highly appreciate.

Yellow color, hazed, big white creamy head, infinitely persistent. Big hoppy smell. Aroma of fresh pale malts and lots of resiny hops, very ’green’. Spiced yeast, green apple, some cider and white wine, likely champenoise fermentation? Very tasty, citrus and tart still maintaining a nice sweetness and strong bitterness. Finish quite dry, perfumed, with solvent tones as abv is quite high, but not distracting. Very very nice, crisp, sparkling, liked a lot.

UPDATED: AUG 17, 2017 Flot, stabilt skum. Diskret humle i næsen. Kraft og krop som en belgisk øl, men mere bitter. En humlet udgave af en Belgian Strong Ale.

Bottled from local supermarket in Mestreech. Color is golden, with thick fluffy head. Sedimented. Hoppy nose. Aroma is yeasty and fruity with some hops. The flavour is sweet spicey with a dry yeasty and finish. Alcohol comes through too much.

Belle mousse généreuse, goût marqué et puissant du houblon, robe blonde gracieuse: cette bière est une princesse!

On tap. Pours a hazy amber with full head. Aromas of Belgian yeast, almost perfumey, with fruity esters leaning towards dried stoned fruit, bananas and oranges. Flavors of same, very much a Belgian Golden with a bit of hops bittering on the finish. Well made.

Flesje gedronken tijdens verjaardag. Aroma en smaak is hoppig en kruidig. Nasmaak is iets bitter.
