Re-rate Harboe version 2013: Thin with hardly any roasted character
Bottle from JohnC. Pours a clear reddish brown, looks rather thick and syrupy. This was a good brew for sure. It had a sweeter taste with the coffee and what appeared to be a syrupy chocolate flavor. Interesting as most coffee stouts do not have the sweetness to them just bitter instead. flemmingwillum (1243) - Nysted, DENMARK - JAN 30, 2007
A very dark brown beer, but not exactly black. The head is beige and dense. The aroma was very bad, at least what concerns the sample I drank, and could be compared to old wet shoes or something other as unattractive as that. However, this was fortunately an exception, since the flavor was one of the best stouts I have ever had. It has a lot of coffee beans and especially the chocolate is very good with it’s creamy palate. The beer has a medium body. I’m very sorry that this beer has such a horrible aroma; elsewise it would have been rated as one of my best beers. sunevdj (4143) - Copenhagen OE, DENMARK - JAN 27, 2007
Pours very dark with an off-white, yellowish head. Rather bitter with aromas of ground (and not roast) coffe beans. Also a small hints of vanilla. Medium bodied. Rather high prickling, carbonation. Long, rather bitter coffeeish finish with quite a bit of band-aid flavors (and that kind of ruins the whole experiance) The finish also has a slight alcohol sensation. As the beer warms in the glass the finish gains a bit of liquirish flavors. Not so good... Should be a bit sweeter and not have so much band-aid in the finish/retro nasal... IMHO. charlotte (5461) - rødovre, DENMARK - JAN 27, 2007

Bottle. Deep a deep dark brown close to black colour with a medium rather short light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is soft and sweet, roasty, nice chocolate and some coffee, good hoppiness. Bitter chocolate finish. Tasty stout indeed. boboski (1095) - Alabama, USA - JAN 20, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 6, 2007 Pours a dark brown with a thin and rapidly dissipating tan head. Aroma is of lightly roasted grains, mild coffee, just a touch of chocolate and a tiny hop profile. Very muted overall, like a shroud has been wrapped around it. Flavor is near identical, with a little more chocolate and less coffee. Very well rounded palate; finishes smooth, roasty, a little grainy. Interesting, pretty easy to sip. Grovlam (4257) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 16, 2007
Bottle. Tasting 12-01-2007 (Søren, Peter, Carsten). Head was average creamy and light brown which mostly lasted. Fair lacing. Black color. Aroma was molasses, caramel, coffee, chocolate, toasted, nutty, flowers, licorice. Medium bodied with a creamy like texture and a flat carbonation. Moderated sweet with some bitterness in there as well. Light bitter finish with an average duration. Nothing spectacular for a stout I thought. jfm (1724) - Holbæk, DENMARK - DEC 16, 2006
Bottle. Black color with a beige head. The taste is a nice and full body with loads of roasted malts notes of chocolate and coffee. Nice smooth body and palate with a light chocolate bitter note. cab (866) - DENMARK - NOV 27, 2006
Bottle. I have given it 3.3 and that is because it is the best beer from GB, good strong malt flavor but the body is to thin.
