COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Blue Mountain Stout is brewed to be enjoyed together with chocolate deserts or coffee. Dark roasted beans from the worlds best coffee - Blue Mountain - together with bitter chocolate, gives the beer its complexity in aroma and flavor - that coffee and chocolate lovers love.

Pours very dark with an off-white, yellowish head. Rather bitter with aromas of ground (and not roast) coffe beans. Also a small hints of vanilla. Medium bodied. Rather high prickling, carbonation. Long, rather bitter coffeeish finish with quite a bit of band-aid flavors (and that kind of ruins the whole experiance) The finish also has a slight alcohol sensation. As the beer warms in the glass the finish gains a bit of liquirish flavors. Not so good... Should be a bit sweeter and not have so much band-aid in the finish/retro nasal... IMHO.

faroeviking (10913) - FAROE ISLANDS - JAN 25, 2007
Bottle. Deep a deep dark brown close to black colour with a medium rather short light brown head. Aroma of chocolate, roasted malts and coffee. Flavor is soft and sweet, roasty, nice chocolate and some coffee, good hoppiness. Bitter chocolate finish. Tasty stout indeed.

boboski (1095) - Alabama, USA - JAN 20, 2007
UPDATED: MAY 6, 2007 Pours a dark brown with a thin and rapidly dissipating tan head. Aroma is of lightly roasted grains, mild coffee, just a touch of chocolate and a tiny hop profile. Very muted overall, like a shroud has been wrapped around it. Flavor is near identical, with a little more chocolate and less coffee. Very well rounded palate; finishes smooth, roasty, a little grainy. Interesting, pretty easy to sip.

Grovlam (4247) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 16, 2007
Bottle. Tasting 12-01-2007 (Søren, Peter, Carsten). Head was average creamy and light brown which mostly lasted. Fair lacing. Black color. Aroma was molasses, caramel, coffee, chocolate, toasted, nutty, flowers, licorice. Medium bodied with a creamy like texture and a flat carbonation. Moderated sweet with some bitterness in there as well. Light bitter finish with an average duration. Nothing spectacular for a stout I thought.

jfm (1724) - Holbæk, DENMARK - DEC 16, 2006
Bottle. Black color with a beige head. The taste is a nice and full body with loads of roasted malts notes of chocolate and coffee. Nice smooth body and palate with a light chocolate bitter note.

Bottle. I have given it 3.3 and that is because it is the best beer from GB, good strong malt flavor but the body is to thin.

beeranarchist (232) - Aalborg, DENMARK - NOV 23, 2006
A very dark brown almost black beer with a nice aroma of coffee, hops and chocolate. Flavour is coffee again (wow... no, shit sherlock?!) with a soft and mild finish of chocolate.

strings (377) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - OCT 9, 2006
Bottle. Impressive in its stoutiness. Really interesting chocolate notes going on, burnt and spicy like a mexican hot chocolate almost. Coffee grounds/dregs aftertaste a bit too overpowering though.

Dedollewaitor (16158) - Odense, DENMARK - OCT 9, 2006
UPDATED: SEP 11, 2009 Thick black with white/browny head. Aroma and taste of roasted malts. Soft texture. Chocolate & coffee. Fine lacings on the glass. Fine dominant hop finish. Actually good quite powerfull bite. One of the better products from the brewery! Great! Rerate September - 09. Roasty, ashy, dusty, fine coffee and synthetic chocolate. Smooth. Ok roasted and sticky end. 3,6 - 3,4
