Meilby (11495) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - SEP 15, 2012
Bottle 500ml @ my sister’s place
Pours clear copper/brown with a off-white head. Aroma has notes of malt, caramel, herbs and floral. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter with a long caramel finish. Body is medium, texture is oily, carbonation is soft.

faroeviking (10913) - FAROE ISLANDS - JUN 11, 2007
Bottle. Clear copper colour with an average sized creamy short lasting head. Fruity aroma of elder, grape fruit, malt and hops. The flavour is fresh, malty and bit spiced, under average sweetness with a strong bitterness from the hops. Like an American West Coast pale ale. Great brew.

pivnizub (10622) - Bochum, Porúří, GERMANY - JAN 25, 2007
Bottle: Clear, amber coloured, small, a bit creamy layer; robust hoppy nose, mixed with a distinctive touch of toasted malt; solid bitter-sweet flavour, medium-bodied; lingering aromatic-bitter finish, balanced by a good amount of dark or toasted malt. A very pleasant, well rounded Ale.... Danke, Jonas!

Fin (10542) - Merton, Oxfordshire, England, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JAN 10, 2009
Picked this bottle up in Esbjerg, Denmark, Sept’ 08, consumed 08-01-09. Impressed that this Danish brewery had chosen to name a beer after me, very decent of them. Pours reddy brown in colour with a white head, Quite chocolatey, plenty of cocoa, pushy malts, even a little barley sugar. Touch sweet and caramely at times but not without its merits. Maria (10212) - Thisted, DENMARK - JUL 3, 2007
33 cl bottle, September 05. It’s a beautiful mahogany red beer with a weak head. The aroma has notes of fruity hops and a bit of caramel. The mouthfeel is almost quite flat. The notes from the aroma are found in the flavour too, but the aroma hops kind of take the lead. the finish has a grapefruit bitterness. I would like more complexity and balance, but it’s a beer that shows promise for future brews.

JorisPPattyn (10005) - Ursel, BELGIUM - OCT 31, 2005
Dark burgundy red-foxy colour; virtually no head. American hops nose, rich, dry hopsacks, grapey, green sultana’s, and fleetingly, some Thai herb. Rich, faint sweetness, malts, but watered down texture, very markedly. Bit of chocolate, tobacco (retronasal), and of course again a good dose of US hops. Grapey, not vinous, also bit of cardboard; warming up some sweat. MF is the Achilles heel of this beer. The thinness (for a 7% ABV beer!) is so marked it is embarrassing. Aftertaste has slightly burning component. Nowhere bad. It is interesting as it has some characteristics of a session beer, and some of a Big’un. Thanks for the switch, Jeppe.

MoritzF (9901) - Ottobrunn, GERMANY - NOV 1, 2007
(33cl bottle, 6.5% abv) Slightly hazy, reddish brown colour with a beautiful, light-beige foamy head. Slightly sweet and roasted dark malty aroma with caramel, spicy phenols and piney hops. Sweet-bitter flavour, medium bodied with a soft carbonation. Moderately roasted malty taste with notes of caramel, liquorice and subtle fruity accents; dry, slightly roasty, moderately bitter finish with a light resiny hoppy touch. Nice, easy going dark Ale.
