More from Vegas and thanks to Khory’s for getting this in an hour before I arrived at the store!
What is with this Unibroue glass? Every time I pour a beer in it half the glass fills with foam! Hazy chestnut colour, huge tan bubbly head, ok dissipating ropy lacing. The aroma is nutty with some interesting herbal qualities, mild fruity candy, some odd perfume, caramel, hints of alcohol, something spicy like a gingerbread I think, I dunno. The taste is pretty interesting and what is odd is that the first thing I noticed is the chestnuts but not until mid to end of the sip. Touch of medicinal to it, sourness, lots of malts, some alcohol on the finish, something funky in no particular order cause I’m sauced. Finished with too much alcohol and I wish it was hidden more. Oily mouth feel. 8% hit hard today for some reason. I’ve pretty much forgotten about this beer already. Nothing special. Horribly overpriced. Save your money unless you are a review whore or share the cost with some one else. I’m going to go play some NHL07 and eat popcorn now

Draught at Churchkey. Walnut colored pour. Nose and flavor are marked with present but uninteresting chestnut, sweet spice, caramel, and plum-like dark fruit. Not bad, but ehhh not exciting.

Dorqui (2258) - Brescia, ITALY - MAY 30, 2006
UPDATED: JUN 1, 2006 Bottled 0,75L. Beer of chestnuts, not flavoured but produced with addition of true chestnuts. Much dark brown color with reddish glares. Fraught, dense and with optimal fizz. Bulky and dense nut head, medium resistance. Much decided and complex scent: resin, burned wood, chestnuts and dry leafs. Elevated alcoholic perception with liqueur notes. Much prickly and strongly impact taste. Extremely alcoholic and complex with warm notes of must and chestnuts under liqueur. Long, fraughted end, optimal persistence. Thanks to Nello for this one.

Nische (2236) - Stockholm, SWEDEN - APR 6, 2015
Pours hazy mahogany with small beige head. The aroma is sweet caramel with a distinct nuttiness and a few acidic fruit notes. The flavor is, well, chestnut, with a caramel sweetness behind it.

Stor smag af karamel og mørke malte. En del sødme i den også der passer til den lille skarphed det er i den.

Hazy amber with big, foamy, fine bubble, head / Nose of orchard fruit, chrysanthemum, and brett / Medium body, fine carbonation, good balance tending towards hoppy dry, with excellent finish / Bretty flavors, with a big barnyard kick, with elegant and subdued, flavors of apples, sour cherries, banana, oak, caramel, chrysanthemum, manure, and a hint of chestnut / An excellent Belgian ale.

Pours a cloudy dark amber, with a big, foamy, light brown head. Smells of dark caramel malt, chestnut, and a hint of soe funk as well. I really dug his flavor, thought it was quite interesting. Definitely got the big chestnut factor in it, as well as caramel malt, various other spices, and a hint of tartness, but not too much. Finished lightly sweet, with some candy sugar and caramel left on the tongue. i think this is an underrated brew, quite flavorful and interesting.
