Generously shared at Ginger Man. Pale amber beer with no head. A lightly tart aroma over some soft light caramel. There is a prominent fruitiness as well. A bit of cherry. Flavour is lightly candyish with a lean and lightly estery note at the same time. A kiss of soft peach/apricot fruitiness over a light fruitiness. Just a hint of oakiness over the soft sweetness. It don’t taste like chestnuts, but it does taste good. daniele (9063) - ITALY - OCT 12, 2008

Wood clad barrel pour at Churchkey. Poured a dark amber color, slightly off-white head, plenty of lacing. Aroma was notes of malt, with a touch of hazelnut. Touch of sour notes, with some sweet malts. Interesting brew. BMan1113VR (7931) - Los Angeles, California, USA - DEC 7, 2008

Aroma sweet malty notes, sugary hints. Mild alcohol that blend in nicely.
Appearance pours as clear red accented amber. Thin beige top. 3+
Flavor and Palate : medium full bodied. Overly sweet, cloying. Mid late not of carbonation. Late warmth of alcohol.
Bottle from Systembolaget. Smell of dried fruit, caramel and sponge cake. Similar taste, malty. I never considered this was spiced somehow. Nice malty beer though. CaptainCougar (7133) - Columbia, Maryland, USA - DEC 15, 2007
Pours a transparent copper orange with a thin, wispy-lacing off-white head. Aroma of doughy, lightly sweet toasty Belgian malt and some earthy spices and nuttiness. Body starts semi-sweet and effervescent with some chestnut flavor and mildly earthy hops toward a drier finish. A nicely balanced and unique chestnut flavored brew.
