Can, from Lidl. Straw gold, fluffy but quickly dropping white head and gentle condition. Soapy dishwater and chlorine in the nose, Quite bitter in the mouth with some traces of starchy malt and a touch of sweetness. Finish is short, and malty sweet. Premium my arse.

UPDATED: FEB 8, 2011 Can. (ABV 4.7%) Pale, golden beer with a white head. Aroma is mostly hoppy and grassy, with only a hint of malt. Flavor is mostly grassy and hoppy, but light. Bitter finish. Watery body, I don’t think the beer gets better by being watered down to comply to Norwegian rules. A beer for people who don’t care. Rating: 3-2-3-2-6-1.6. 060222KnutAlbert (6754) - Oslo, NORWAY - JUN 7, 2006
Can. It’s a clear, golden beer with a lasting, small, white head leaving lacings. The aroma is grainy and sweet with fruityness. Something reminiscent of alcohol too. The flavor is almost lacking, there’s fruits and some grains, but very, very little bitterness. Thin on the palate, semi-sweet. Short, fruity and grainy finish. A super boring beer I hope I don’t end up drinking again, even though it’s not very bad. 101027
Canned, from Lidl. Very pale. Rather thin, hoppy, but with a metallic finish. madsberg (11770) - Søborg, DENMARK - AUG 11, 2006
Can. Pale yellow coloured. Clear. White fluffy head. Sweet and perfumed in aroma and flavour. Is very light herbal. Thin bodied and watery. Vague bitterness in the end. Easy to drink, but very boring. Beer5000 (6483) - Kristiansand, NORWAY - APR 4, 2007
500 ml can. Pale golden body with a medium white head. Neutral aroma, almost nothing. Flavor is weak, a little malty and discrete hops. Very average and boring, but nothing really wrong.

Can, provided (I think) by SilkTork. Didn’t realise it was a Lidl job at first. Nothing remotely premium, or pils-like for that matter, about this beer. Its just a very dull pale lager. Duller than most, which is really saying something. Horrible thin, metallic mouthfeel.

Pretty similar to the Fink brau as well from Lidl. And as well cheap. Not very interesting. omhper (25108) - Tyresö, SWEDEN - SEP 1, 2005
Canned, from Lidl UK. Bright golden, brief head. Sweet and neutral, light bodied, low bitterness. A very simple beer not providing any enjoyment. Kingi (662) - - OCT 25, 2012
Pale yellow colour , white dense head. Aroma too faint to write about. Same with the taste, maybe some malts. A bit of dryness in the aftertaste. light carbonation. What taste there is isn’t very good.

Pale pils with a fleeting head. Almost non-existent nose with a disappointing cereal note. Sometimes I think that the term Rheihneitsgebot is used a little too liberally and wonder at its efficacy. The major profile is more gas than flavour and this is truly another version of an often disappointing style. I wonder if the Euro is to blame?
