Named after the hardworking neighborhood where the original Grain Belt Brewery established its roots back in 1893. The term Nordeast comes from the Northern and Eastern European immigrants and their language which helped shape Northeast Minneapolis. This amber American Lager is our way of honoring the storied past of Grain Belt and the people who helped to make it legendary! Cheers!

UPDATED: AUG 12, 2013 Bottle, at my dads house. Did NOT care for regular Grain Belt as made by Schells, but this is the rule-breaker. I notice theyre not declaring so in their description, but this tastes like an all-malt amber. Decent "beer" smell after pouring, no sweet adjuncty notes. Amber colored body under a stiff white head. Drinks easily, and agrees more with the Vienna style (or the historic lagers like Yuengling). The usual plain beer mouthfeel, but again the all-malt brew is apparent and appreciated, although further on there may be a touch of corn or ricew. Hops are not too distinct, probably just the basic Noble varieties lending a bit of a prickle in the back of my mouth.

Bottle. Aroma was a lot like a macro lager. Mostly bread and hay, any caramel malt was faded. Amber in color. Taste similar to a Yuengling, light sweet and medium low bitterness in the finish. Body is Medium-light. Not overly great or memorable.

Bottle: Clear, dark amber with a short, off-white head. Caramel and light cola scent. Taste is pretty much the same....a little metallic bitter. Nothing memorable, but nothing offensive either.....OK.

UPDATED: JUL 18, 2016 Light amber in color, eggshell head with cascading lace. Aroma is sweet corn, florals, notes of honey. A little sweet earthiness on the tongue, crisp towards the finish, one dimensional. Bleh.

16 Oz. Can. Pours clear light amber with a thin head and some lacing on the glass. Aroma is malts and corn. Taste is pretty much every the same; watered down corn and some malts, quite sweet. Had to try it, now I did and chances are I will drink it again... But certainly not the greatest.
