Grain Belt scores another coup for us tubby beer drinkers. Definitely would take a Blatz Light over this, but when you’re thirsty and this is all you have....that’s ALL YOU HAVE. GrandMasterSexay (26) - Minnesota, USA - SEP 25, 2002
can you even legally call this light beer? doesn’t taste nearly enough like water... Slick (1969) - Thief River Falls, Minnesota, USA - NOV 21, 2003
UPDATED: JAN 31, 2004 Nice light golden color, small white head that had a short life. The aroma was malty, corn and some what fruity as well. The taste was lightly malty a little corn mild hops and just cerealish.Over all a fairly nice brew that started and finished quite nicely with a high drinkability. This was a nice surprise and i would recommend this to anyone for a refreshing rendition of a light beer. ronaldtheriot (1918) - Laplace, Louisiana, USA - AUG 20, 2015
Grain Belt Premium Light has a thin, white head, a clear, fairly bubbly, straw appearance, and minimal lacing left behind. The aroma is of sweet, mild malt, and the flavor is the same, with almost no bitterness. Mouthfeel is light and watery, and Premium Light finishes crisp and refreshing. Full sampler at JJ’s/La Puerta in Sister Bay, WI. for old time’s sake, and to clear my throat. Showed a clear straw hue, with white, creamy head froth, and spotty lacing. The aroma was light yeast, some stinky/dank grain, and a touch of corn. Very light bodied, lively carbonated, with a hint of hop bitterness, and a watery texture. A somewhat bland hydrator, but it is what it is.

This is an incredibly light beer, I wil say that much. It is pale and clear and has just a hint of crackery malt and lemon hops. I prefer my American lagers more for flavored but this isn’t bad. GenDV138 (7201) - Falls Church, Virginia, USA - JUL 2, 2014
Bottle during RBSG 2014. Clear yellow with off-white head. Aromas of corn, wheat, bready notes. Tastes of corn, wheat, skunk. Light body and dry. CanIHave4Beers (4184) - Pouring Bus, Iowa, USA - MAY 13, 2014

Pours a pale straw color, perfectly clear with a very small but well retained head.
The aroma is odd, all sorts of stuff going on... floral sweetness, light fruity notes, corn, husky grain, a little tire.
The flavor reminds me a whole lot off Rhinelander Export, the weird sweetness, the odd flavors you can’t put your finger on, the corn, the inexplicably enjoyable experience all around... It’s got some yeasty doughiness, and some light hop zip.
It’s not "good" but I could’t hate on it if I wanted to.
For a Minnesota light beer its ok. not much flavor at all. It tastes a lot like Grainbelt Premium, just a little more watered down. I probably will never drink it again. I don’t see any reason to. mothman (120) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - JUL 12, 2010
Poured into a pint glass with no freshness date on the bottle.
This is definitely one of the lightest beers I have had. Like the regular version, it doesn’t have much color at all and the head isn’t to exciting.
Aroma and taste are very similar. Very bland. Some corn, grain, and light grassy hops show.
Mouthfeel is crisp with a light body. Higher carbonation. Ends dry.
I wouldn’t recommend this one, unless you like tasteless beer or plan on having a lot (very drinkable as it is extremely light).
