Black tea and honey aroma. Deep orange, small tight head. Sweet malts, nettley hops. Smooth palate, carbonation low. Gently sweet from residual sugars. A touch too pungent hops, but still quite tasty. Dry dusty bitter finish. Gets a bit dirtier later.

Cask handpull at the Spread Eagle (Grain), Ipswich. Pours amber brown with a small white head. Aroma of malt, caramel, nutty and fruity. Medium sweetness and bitterness. Cask at the Cock Inn, Attleborough. Light brown, almost tawny. Cedar, underripe berries, a bit of astringency in the nose. Taste is malt led but with a good dollop of sour bitterness. Long grainy finish. Just the right hit of astringency. Special.
