Tap at the brewpub in Grand Lake. Pours a light reddish brown with no head. Aroma is sweet and mildly hoppy. More hoppiness in the flavor, with some doughy malts to balance it out. Pretty good. Concealer (1246) - Denver, Colorado, USA - OCT 20, 2013
Bottle. Pours an amber red with a caramel white head that sticks around. Smells of caramel, toasted malts, and toffee. Flavor is the same but with a bitter finish and some cereal. Medium bodied. luckygirl (1223) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JUL 6, 2007
Draught at Falling Rock. Beer is clear, medium/dark red-brown with a small, frothy, beige, mostly diminishing head.
The aroma is malty with a moderate note of toasted grain, light note of biscuit and a trace of caramel; Hoppy with a light/moderate note of resin/pine, light dried apricot; Miscellaneous note of generic fruit.
The flavor is moderate/heavily sweet, lightly bitter, light/moderate acidic with a long, moderately sweet, lightly acidic finish.
The body is light, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.
Not very engaging, but not bad. tennessejed420 (940) - Denver, Colorado, USA - NOV 12, 2010
bottle. Pours ruby red with almost no head. Almost looks identical to their booger brown, which was my first drainpour. This one actually smells ok, caramel, toffee, nuts. Thin, watery body, almost no carbonation, which does not work well for this beer. Flavor presents a sickly sweet molasses aspect, and that’s pretty much it. Unlike the brown, this is at least drinkable, although barely, and not enjoyable. Cousin_Larry (895) - - JUL 15, 2013
A beer that drinks like a meal. Hoppy flavor. Became more difficult to drink as the night wore on.

Bomber from brewery, pours pale amber with flat head. Lighter hops, malt and slight caramel flavor without a lot of complexity. A very drinkable beer; overall not bad. VitaminR (540) - Colorado, USA - AUG 19, 2009
Rich molasses, malt, and slight chocolate cinnamon nose. Brilliant red amber, small head. Sweet caramel malt and mild bitterness. Lightish carbonation, thin body, finish is malty but ends too quickly. Nose suggests it will be better than it is. The beer is tasty, but it could use something more, maybe more body and carbonation? aplusbreaks (330) - Boulder, Colorado, USA - JAN 9, 2009
Draft at the brewpub in Grand Lake. Pours a reddish amber with a thin off white head. Aromas of caramel malts, and some slight smoke notes? I think my nose is off today but the flavor seemed to confirm the smoke. Nice hop presence in the mid palate. Interesting beer for sure. thehurt01 (262) - Denver, Colorado, USA - MAR 15, 2009
A 12oz bottle. The beer poured a nice amber body and thin cream head. the smell is nutty citrus and so is the taste. Good carbonation. ilherps (248) - Carbondale, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2008
The beer has a reddish amber color, tastes caramelized and slightly of hops on the finish. I smell dust on the nose. Flavors are of toffee, malts, and lots of coffee.
