2.5 AROMA 3/10 APPEARANCE 3/5 TASTE 5/10 PALATE 3/5 OVERALL 11/20
A beer that drinks like a meal. Hoppy flavor. Became more difficult to drink as the night wore on.
From Apr 2008
This pours a clear reddish amber with about a finger head of foam. Average head retention with little lacing.
The smell has notes of caramel, biscuit, and some grassy hops.
The taste has a big biscuit flavour up front followed by some caramel, and both piney and grassy hops that give it some balance, especially near and through the finish.
It has a medium to medium light mouthfeel with a fairly light amount of carbonation..
This is an interesting brew...not very complex but the flavours work pretty well for me. I'd probably drink this again.
Cost: Part of a mixed 6 Pack US$8.29

On tap at the Arvada location. Red and clear appearance with a diminishing white head. Notes of caramel, toffee, toasted grains, rich malts and light earthy hops. Mild bitterness and mild sweetness. Nicely balanced and pretty easy to drink. One of the better offerings here IMO. jrodooo5 (1748) - DOVER, Delaware, USA - MAY 21, 2014
Blah. Probably the worst beer in my grand lake variety 6 pk. Amber pour w/ a decent tan head. Aroma is of slightly sweet malt. Taste is bland but pretty well balanced. Not great! zoucrew102 (2235) - - APR 12, 2014
Bottle. Caramel and toffee malt aroma with some hoppy notes. Pours reddish amber with a thin tan head and very good lacing. Sweet caramel and toffee flavors to start. Finishes smooth and dry with a slight hop bite at the end. Good red, but slightly watery in the body. ads135 (5207) - Omaha, Nebraska, USA - DEC 11, 2013
Nutty, some mild fruit flavor, but otherwise forgettable. Grassy hops, light body.

Bottle. Pours an amber red with a caramel white head that sticks around. Smells of caramel, toasted malts, and toffee. Flavor is the same but with a bitter finish and some cereal. Medium bodied. RobertDale (6977) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - OCT 18, 2012
12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of hops, caramel, and malt. Taste is citrus, caramel malt, florals, nuts, and fruits. Pretty good. IrishBoy (4252) - Bakersfield, California, USA - OCT 11, 2012
12 oz bottle from Supermarket Liquors Fort Collins. Nose is floral hops, light nuttiness, and caramel. Lightly hazy rust with a medium beige head. Flavor is caramel, peanuts, and light bitterness. That1Guy (2240) - Colorado, USA - AUG 30, 2012
12 oz bottle pours a dark, brownish-red with no real head to speak of. Biscuit, toasted malt, a hint of light fruits on the nose. Flavor is more sweet and fruity, with a malt presence balancing it out. Smooth but unremarkable.
