Had this beer on 6/22/2006. Aroma is rich with a sweet roasted malt scent and fresh hops. Color is a light brown with light carbonation and thin tight head. Taste is full of flavor from malty richness to a fresh happiness. Starting with medium body it goes down with a crisp feel. Finish burst out at you with a roasted malt flavor followed by fresh hops and a nice bitterness. It seems a bit hoppy for an Amber, but I love this beer. dwyerpg (6496) - Las Vegas, Nevada, USA - JUN 24, 2009
This has a pretty good sweet aroma. The head is very tasty. Creamy but with a good graininess. The flavor is grainy as well, but sweet and creamy as well. Really, this is quite nice. 2 for 2 with these guys. BrewDad (5667) - Olympia, Washington, USA - OCT 6, 2006

A deep amber color with a nice head. Rich in malt I really liked the awesome flavors this beer had. The hops where subtle and the flavors and spices where great. Good Beer…

Amber pour. Yeast roll aromas followed by light hops and stone fruit. Flavor is sweet, malty, golden raisins, and apricot. ilherps (249) - Carbondale, Illinois, USA - AUG 29, 2008
The beer has a reddish amber color, tastes caramelized and slightly of hops on the finish. I smell dust on the nose. Flavors are of toffee, malts, and lots of coffee.

Perfect bright red in color. Well balanced aroma and flavor, equally balancing malt and hops and providing flavors and aromas of caramel, mocha, toffee and resin. A pretty good"red" ale. KAggie97 (3529) - Ugly, Hot, and Humid Spring, Texas, USA - OCT 19, 2006
Tap at brewpub. Pours a nice amber but with flat bubbles; nice head. Smells like a woodsy wort. Flavor is smoky malt. Average mouthfeel. Surprised by the smoke flavor... BEAUTIFUL Rocky Mountain National Park road for a namesake. notalush (5955) - Lakewood, Colorado, USA - FEB 3, 2010
Dark, cloudy amber pour - probably one of the more complex ambers I’ve had - very malty, with a lot of prune, raisin, and molasses in the aroma and the flavor - some notes of spice kick in just in time for the hops to compliment it - a touch of toasted malt flavor on the back end - a bit of spicy warmth last through the finish - one of the few ambers I’ve had that I would happily buy again. Pours a crystal clear deep amber. Tan head fades very quickly. Beautiful beer with head retention way too short. Aroma of caramel male follows through with a rich, deep malt flavor. The big malt carries through the entire mouthfeel. Falls off somewhat quickly, but a good beer all around. Hophead22 (2879) - Redlands, by way of Wisconsin,, California, USA - JAN 16, 2009
oz bottle from aplusbreaks. Dark amber pour, very little head. Carmelly aroma. Nice hop presence, good bite too it. Nice roastiness as well. Pretty good.
