Pours reddish with white head, aroma has notes of slight pine, caramel, some earth and spice notes as well. Pretty simple but clean tastes, notes of bitter pine and grass, some biscuit, toast, slight bit of caramel, finishing slightly bitter, dry. Easy drinking. 12 oz bottle pours a dark, brownish-red with no real head to speak of. Biscuit, toasted malt, a hint of light fruits on the nose. Flavor is more sweet and fruity, with a malt presence balancing it out. Smooth but unremarkable. Ratman197 (15620) - Arvada, Colorado, USA - FEB 11, 2007
On tap @ Falling Rock poured a clear reddish brown with a small lasting amber head. Aromas of carmel, toffee and light fruitiness. Palate was light to medium bodied and smooth. Flavors of bread, carmel and toffee with a smooth lingering finish. BeerandBlues2 (14018) - Escondido, California, USA - AUG 14, 2012

Blah. Probably the worst beer in my grand lake variety 6 pk. Amber pour w/ a decent tan head. Aroma is of slightly sweet malt. Taste is bland but pretty well balanced. Not great! Beaver (1868) - Fort Collins, Colorado, USA - MAR 21, 2010
12 oz bottle. Pours a reddish amber with a smallish creamy off white head that retains fairly well and laces the glass.RobertDale (6983) - Lansing, Kansas, USA - OCT 18, 2012
The aroma is pretty subdued- some nutty malts and a little cola and some floral hops.
The flavor is nutty caramel malts with some slightly fruity bitterness at the finish. The mouthfeel is light to medium bodied and pretty watery.
Overall, an OK malt forward beer. It’s similar to Fort Collins’ Retro Red. I liked this better on tap.
12 ounce bottle. Pours a clear amber with a small off-white head. Aroma of hops, caramel, and malt. Taste is citrus, caramel malt, florals, nuts, and fruits. Pretty good.
