COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
An Australian style bitter ale with a deeply delicious full malt flavour and pleasant hop bitterness from Tasmanian and New Zealand hops. An easy drinking and thirst quenching beer. The owners favourite, this great ale won Australia’s best ale in 2001 at the National Festival of Beers for the second time along with numerous International medals including 3 Gold in 2003 and the Premiers Trophy for Victoria’s Best Beer. More awards in 2005-2010. Excellent with all steaks, roast lamb and Aussie game meats. Top with Shitake mushrooms seared in this great ale for a real treat.

UPDATED: JUL 23, 2003 Love the strong dry finish on this beer. This is a brewery that's going to get pretty popular pretty quickly, and this is the mainstay release from it.

Great coffe and caramel overtones, I’m a hugh fan as my first introduction to decent Ales.

Bottle. Lovely hazy mid-amber with a good 2 finger creamy white head which did not last for long but laced well. Aromas of honey, sweet caramel maltiness and the barest presence of hops. All of the Grand Ridge ales I have tried so far have had a very similar aroma. Flavour is as per aroma, but with quite a bitter finish from the hops which balances up the sweetness from the malt quite well. Palate is very smooth, quite a light touch with the carbonation which is fine and complements the flavours well. A very nice Australian Ale. Lookout Little Creatures, you have a challenger at last.

Brown 330ml bottle, best before June 2011, drank 1st June 2010. Poured into a Batemans half pint tumbler. Good old gold, rusty amber colour the head a dirty yellowed smokers fingered nicotine colour. The smell was all malt, fairly sweet malts at that, caramel and molasses. A yeast aroma becomes apparent as the beer warms in the glass, but no hop esters at all. The sweetness from the smell isn’t allowed to take over the taste, a hop bitterness sees to that, so no aroma hops, just bitter acid producing plants used? The best Aussie beer I’ve had since arriving on BA/RB? I think so, full bodied and interesting flavours made this a very drinkable little bottle.

Top quality English-style Aussie pale ale/bitter. Lovely crystal malts. I’m very impressed with this brewery.

For a locally made brew it was really suprising, a definate ale taste of hops yet mellowed with a nice sweet aroma and aftertaste. Well worth any palate at this price.

UPDATED: AUG 7, 2010 Tap. Tasty beer. Aromas of roasted caramel, and cola. Flavour is sweet, and it has good length. Palate is oily, and it has a medium body. Orange colour, with a thin and frothy white head.

330ml bottle into glass. Excellent toffee malt nose, inviting. Bronze beer with solid white head. A few small bubbles. Mineral water freshness followed by caramel and banana. Late late bitterness. Really really good.

Nice strong malty after taste on this brew. For a beer priced at $2.50 you are definitely getting your money’s worth.
